Nicely located spot about a 20 minute walk from the train station. Had to stay in Birmingham for a night and this room was very nice for the price I paid. Small of course, but for one person I was very happy. Only advice I would give is to be patient for the shower water to get warm. Other than that, enjoyed my 1 night stay.Rooms: 5/5
I was offered a very tiny room with barely enough space to walk around. Nothing fancy at all, but the bed was clean, and the bathroom was spotless. Considering the very cheap price, I can't complain, as I only needed a place to sleep for one night.Rooms: 3/5
The room was adequate and very clean. The location was good and close to the train station and the bull ring as well as many clubs and bars. However the service was dreadful and despite every sign in there telling you that breakfast finishes and 10:30 it finishes at 9:30 and if you complain about this they will focus on the fact you forgot it was continental not a cooked breakfast and not the fact I ain't getting the breakfast I paid for because they're too cheap to change the signs. The first staff member we talked to left and no-one was in the building. And the second staff member we talked to had too much attitude and talked to my misses like she was some gum on her shoe. Was cheap and I somehow still got robbed.
Suitable location for the O2 Academy. Room was basic but clean and warm. Continental breakfast was good. I would definitely use the Wellington again if going to the O2
My friend and I had a great stay here. Pleasant room with big Clean beds and everything you want or need in the good en suite bathroom. Friendly staff. A decent continental breakfast. Indian restaurant in part of the premises - very good food.Rooms: 5/5
The staff are great and a credit to the property. However on Friday evening whilst we were enjoying a drink at the bar, a lady attacked the barman and it really marred our experience, which led to my Dad wanting to go to another hotel. Said lady was still in the building 40 minutes later in the smoking area, I'm not sure why she wasn't ejected from the bar or the police weren't called. The Indian Restaurant had guests waiting to go in for food so the area was busy when the incident occurred. The room was a good size for our party of two it was a family room, however the shower wasn't the best water was leaking out of the head. Hotel location is great with the Bullring shopping centre a walkable distance. We used Uber quite a bit as we were going to venues in Digbeth etc. Again your staff are very good across all facets of the business, but i feel you need to safeguard your staff as the gentleman who was attacked suffered several blows to the head in the pub entrance way.
Rooms are very tiny but okay, location is amazing, stuff as well, rooms should be cleaned a bit better especially the carpet due to a lot of dust being present, though the building is an old one and very very noisy. Overall a good stay thoRooms: 3/5
Stayed here when going to the 02. Perfect location. Ruby was fantastic I'd booked the room but for the wrong year, ‍ luckly there was another room avaliable. Room was a large family room with 2 beds. Bathroom was nice & tidy, kettle nice & clean. Tea & coffee included in the room. Bedding lovely & clean, but bed wasn't to comfortable. Complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap & body wash. Towels were nice & clean & fluffy. Continental breakfast included Nearby activities: 02 arena across the road. Lots of shops & eateries close by. Town short walk away.
Stayed one night in a single room the room was a little small but ok the bathroom was clean the bed comfortable and clean the windows need replacing as old rotting wood the breakfast was nice even thou it was continental I would stay again but definitely needs a fan in the room as hot even with windows openRooms: 3/5
Really noisy. I personally wouldn't stay here again because it was so noisy. The building is obviously an old building so it's single glazing and although the curtains are good for dampening the sound I found that I only slept about 3 or 4 hours a night because the main road outside was so noisy at all hours. The second night I slept with earplugs in and I was waking up by a really loud humming, It was so loud I could hear it through my headphones. I did wonder if it was the person downstairs using the bathroom because the fans make the most horrendous sound. The breakfast was alright definitely couldn't complain about the service. It was a little bit like lacklustre but it was good enough for continental breakfast. Just so you know breakfast starts at 7:30 and ends at 10:30 I couldn't find this information anywhere until I actually arrived. Also on arrival my bed was soaking wet because somebody left the window open and they had to call housekeeping to change my sheets. At one point I thought they were going to ask me to change my own sheets but luckily they didn't. I could tell when I came back into the room that it obviously been recently painted and that's why the window was open so I pretty much spent the evening sitting in paint fumes which wasn't very pleasant. Overall I probably wouldn't recommend this place if you are a professional and you are there for anything work related because it's just so loud. Rooms: Loud. Hard bed. Nicely decorated. Reasonably clean but some dusting would have been good. Nearby activities: Lots of food and drinks places and a casino Safety: It was reasonably safe but I knew that Chinatown had some safety issues so I didn't stay out too late. Even the supermarkets their have security Walkability: It's quite easy to walk to a local amenities. There are restaurants and there is a Tesco's express and lots of bus links to key areas of Birmingham including the train stations. Food & drinks: Lots of Asian options and a Greek restaurant. Most places take cash over card so watch out for that. Noteworthy details: Well maintained room. Breakfast starts at 7:30 till 10:30. The main road is very very loud.
