I came upon this place by accident but it is a treasure if you want to experience something out of an era long gone. The atmosphere is inviting, friendly typical of Irish hospitality ! You are guaranteed to strike up an interesting conversation with the locals! Sit down, relax have a nice pint of Irish stout or if you wish, even a shot of the most expensive whiskey! Those bottles are high up on a shelf and some of them are marked not for sale! This is the only Day Pub left in Cork and is located at the beginning of Oliver Plunket St. on the side close to the Bus station at Parnel Place. If you want to experience its unique and quaint atmosphere and meet genuinely interesting characters, this is definitely the place to visit!
Very lovely atmosphere! One of the most oldest pub in Cork and they have captured it perfectly. Do beware space is very limited and it is very unlucky you will get sit/stand inside for a pint to enjoy the aesthetic. Outdoor seating area not ideal for non-smokers as everyone outside was smoking and it was very heavy.
It was necessary to pop in for a few Guinness when in Cork. The owner was very friendly and everyone in the pub was so nice and full of stories. If you're in the area, definitely pop in for a drink.Service: 5/5
Very local! If you want to embrace Irish style night out, pub crawl to this will be a great choice!Service: 3/5
Fantastic little bar with friendly staff and a local atmosphere in the heart of Cork. With over 150 different types of whiskeys it's a unbelievable collection.Atmosphere: 5/5
Last early morning pub in Cork, great pint, friendly staff. All round great spot. Service: 5/5
One of the best pubs in Cork. Looks nothing from the outside but if you want an authentic Cork pub, then this is the one to go to. Good pints and a huge selection of whiskey. Often has live music at the weekend. Really small so don't expect oceans of space but that lends to its character.Service: 5/5
The most traditional pub in Cork! It's a secret tipp I got from a local. They sell beer cheaper than any other pub I visited everything is less than 6€ and they have live music every day. Come here and don't make it a tourist attraction! ;
Crowded and lively like I imagined an Irish pub to be!! Live Music tonight! Great selection of whiskey - had me some Redbreast 12 on stones which was tasty! Picture from earlier in the day.
Had to leave after one drink as we felt very uncomfortable sitting at the table beside a couple who really needed to get a room and they weren't kids. I visited the toilets before we left & although they looked clean, there was a very strong smell of urine which is unusual for a ladies toilet. Wouldn't go back.
