Great service from a very stretched waiter who was doing everything alone! Serving, taking orders, clearing, bringing drinks.... thanks for looking after us this evening. Only down side is the menu and online app menu didn't match and we couldn't order the cocktails 2 4 £10 on the app as advised...it wasn't working either.
An outstanding meal, probably the best I’ve had in a pub in a long time. We went in as a group of nine for lunch. The burgers were superb, served pink they were exactly as burgers should be. Our teens loved them. We had ribeye steaks that were also served properly medium rare. The chef knows how to cook a steak! The service was excellent. Friendly, welcoming and swift. Can we take you back to Buckinghamshire please???
Lovely dog friendly pub with a small outdoor terrace and lots of comfy seats inside. On historic Honey St in the centre of town. I had a tasty Mexican salad with Southern Chicken and it was a great lunch.
Found The Weavers by chance on google when we where staying in Bodmin on Holiday last week. We called to make sure they could fit us in for food and that they had a kids menu as we had 2 young children, luckily it was a yes to both but they didn't start serving food until 5pm which was fine with us. We arrived and were seated at our table at the back area of the premises which was fine. Parking was perfect near the pub, about 2min away there is a large car park next to the bike hire which is FREE parking after 4.30pm, although they don't advertise this on any signs. The pub had lovely decor with candles on each table etc which adds to the atmosphere and felt like a traditional English pub which felt very welcoming. After scanning over the menus for 15min we were handed another menu which had been printed that day with various additional dishes on them. There was a good selection of meals from Starters to Deserts and we opted for Fish and Chips and Hunters chicken. The kids had fish and chips and a fish cake with fries. Food arrived after around 20min which was perfect as we had 2 very hungry kiddies. The fish cake ordered for our son, I found was over cooked and instead of golden it was more on the dark brown side, we took all of the breadcrumbs off it and be just eat the inside, so no reason for us to complain. Our daughters fish and chips was very good, she loved every bit of it. My only issue with the kids food which for us as parents is a no no is the fact they'd added salt to the Fries, just don't feel they needed too. The wife really enjoyed her Hunters chicken and it looked fantastic. My fish and chips was ok, loved the crushed peas to go with it but the tartare sauce tasted much like mayonnaise and just didn't have any other flavour apart from Mayo. Fish itself was nice and well cooked. With the food all finished and plates ready to be taken, we did feel as though they wanted us out, whether this was the fact that we had an inquisitive 20 month old with us who wanted to explore and wave at other tables I'm unsure, as the chap took out plates he asked us if we wanted the bill although me and the Mrs both had half of our drinks left. I explained we would wait 10 min but quickly finished my drink and asked for the bill as didn't feel comfortable. So why the 3 star, well with the nearly burnt fish cake and the pressure to sip up and get the bill paid, I had a dreadful stomach ache all evening after the meal, food was fine when eating and I eat 90% of my plate but something just didn't agree with me that evening. Overall we didn't have a disastrous visit just a few minor issues which amounted to frustration.
Visiting Bodmin today and looking for somewhere for a roast dinner we had the good fortune to find The Weavers. No idea why this place was not sold out - the roast dinner was superb. Great service too. Would recommend a visit.
Smashing venue for a get together. Great ale and food. Very friendly bar staff and easy to get to from several car parks close by. Highly recommend the weavers.
Great, friendly and genuine staff; plus really great food burgers are amazing! with a hassle free option to take away. If you eat in, snuggs and a grrreat outside eating area are brilliant. Love it.
Great pub. We ordered steak and ale pie. It was really delicious. Staff are nice
