Pleasant spoons, one of the least ghastly carpets I've seen! Pleasant staff, nice selection of real ales. Food was surprisingly hot and fresh. Oh... and it has an Organ!!!!
A lovely weatherspoons in Bodmin set in a old Wesleyan chapel and Leanne the lovely lady in charge of front of house so helpful nothing to much trouble thank you Last heard on the media that it's closing ? Hopefully someone will buy it
Unfortunately we went to this place on an off night. Bar staff were lovely and welcoming but the food was terrible, Chewy warm steak and barely warm gammon. When I complained the chef blamed the grill instead of claiming responsibility. The staff did offer us a full refund which was great but two meals that should be easy to cook were truly awful. Hopefully going forward the cooking standard will match the standard of the bar staff.
I've often been to many of Tim Martin's emporiums and in very few instances will the service be consistent. My visit to this one, on this day, was a bad experience. The meal chosen had not been defrosted properly, access to the real ale on the website was not possible, there was nobody to take notice I was not happy with the situation, they place was not very clean and they were not really very busy. I left the meal and my drink. No impressed one bit.
Although it has 2 pool tables upstairs for £1 to play which is good value, the cues were in a bad condition warped, flat tips, loose ferrules and the men's toilets were a disgrace! No soap or paper towels to dry your hands due to the fact that, where the hand dryer had been ripped off the wall, what was left of it was the wiring freely hanging for anyone to electrocute themselves which is surely a breach of health and safety rules! Take care guys!
My wife and I ordered a jacket potato, a lasagne, and two drinks. After half an hour, we were informed that there were no jacket potato's as they were sold out. The waitress said to order something else, but my wife has gluten intolerance, so we had a refund but had to pay for the drinks that we didn't want as they never had a coffee machine. Very poor service, never again.
Service was extremely slow, with no warning or apology. We were waiting with our toddler, for over half an hour - luckily he was really well behaved but some prior warning would have been nice! The staff were friendly, but obviously young and inexperienced. The pub itself was ok, but more a locals feel than a friendly family one. Food was ok, standard quality for spoons.
Not your usual spoons. The building lease is for sale and staff confirmed it doesn’t make enough money. Litter everywhere, leftover plates on tables and cigarette butts. Understaffing was obvious the bar area was messy and staff moral was low.
Fast and friendly service. Food was also very good. Being a wetherspoons floor staff myself I can say they need one or two, as tables were filled with peoples previous meals etc to the point where people were walking out as they couldn’t find a place to sit
THIS IS NO LONGER A SPOONS!!!!! Despite what the pictures and maps say. We walked 40 minutes from our hotel to find out there's no food and only expensive drinks after thinking it was a weatherspoons from the Internet
