Me and my mum visit regularly for our weekly tea as we can get to it after a short walk - we really enjoy the food, it is great quality, taste, and very reasonable in price! I usually get the Cajun chicken baguette and on-draft IPA to drink, the baguette is always fresh, the chicken is super tasty and there's always plenty, and the IPA is refreshing for a sunny day. The patio is really great, and the restaurant area is also lovely with a comfortable atmosphere and decor. Service is great and the staff are on the ball and lovely. Just a really lovely place for a weekly treat, would recommend a visit!
We have recently discovered this place and we should have our own parking space now! We can't keep away, food is simply brilliant, staff are lovely, the place just has a lovely feeling and it's always full of people having fun, smiling and enjoying themselves! We're going for lunch here now!
Great food and drinks served by helpful hard working friendly staff. Very relaxing friendly atmosphere. Car parking can be a bit of an issue during busy times. Will definitely be back.
Home made pie is out of this world a very good selection of traditional ales that are brewed just up the road in the company's own brewery. Well worth a visit . I would recommend booking a table as it gets busy.
Used for a working lunch, 2nd time in a couple of months. Busy as you might expect being Christmas run up but service was spot on. Food was a good standard with a varied menu. We opted for the Festive Fare Menu but had cod and this was served with brussels, parsnips etc., and was very nice.
Not been in for a while but the 6 of us had meals and they were spot on. Service was great as usual and really busy so great atmosphere. Highly recommend this pub. Mark Styler
Visited the wagon and horses yesterday 10 of us and had a great time. The food was delicious apart from the two waggon burgers which my lads had who said they were terrible, the worst they’d ever had and we’re disappointed. Service was fantastic and all the staff worked really hard, just a shame about the burgers.
Not up to expectations Those who have read previous reviews of mine know that I speak for myself and with the thoughts of my foodie partners and give an honest appraisal of that singular occasion. Taking all into consideration, it is very rare that I am disappointed with my meal, but to have my partner also disappointed, that's very unusual. Drinks: Sauvignon Blanc with soda and ice x2 Starters Black Pudding with Chorizo My partner would have found this more enjoyable if she did not struggle to 'find' the black pudding or the chorizo. Calamari with light salad and sauce. I actually found this to be quite good value and taste. Nice large rings of Squid. Mains: I have to be honest. I saw the plentiful plate of the traditional Sunday roast being served and immediately compared with other local establishments. And whilst comparable with quantity and no doubt excellent quality both my partner and I found the price around 15-20% higher than the other establishments.. and so opted for something different. Cheese and Onion Pie with chips and peas. On arrival, I was nicely surprised to see the nice portions of 'slab' Cheese and Onion pie. homemade?. Both my partner agreed that after 3-4 fork portions, it was dry, VERY dry.. in fact TOO dry., with my partner remarking that 'they have used far too much potato to pad out the pie, though it did mention it contained potato in the menu, the actual content was far far too much. Had we known, we would have ordered at extra cost some onion gravy. Too late was the cry and we game-fully struggled to finish what was left of our pies. We did not have dessert which we almost always have, simply because we were too full due to the potato again in the pie and would not have appreciated it. The service was superb, we could not fault that at all. Because we may have picked a 'bad day', we 'may' decide to try again at a later date, but avoid the Sunday roast, Black Pudding starter and the Cheese and Onion pie.
Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Fantastic service!
Very very nice food. Very good and quick service also very friendly staff. Large portion but good value for money.
