I agree with the comment below, the front line receptionists definitely need to be trained properly on how to be polite when taking calls! The woman who answered the phone to me this morning was not only very rude, but couldn't get off the phone fast enough - she had more or less hung up on me before I'd even said goodbye. This is not the first time I've rang up the surgery recently to be spoken to in a rude manner by the receptionist. It's a shame the receptionists at the Peter House Surgery are so rude because I've always found the doctors to be very friendly and helpful.

The front line reception especially the grumpy one I spoke to today need to be trained on how to pick up the phone and announce themselves properly in a more cheerful manner. It’s like they just had a massive blow out with someone and decided to take it out on the first caller they spoke to. Then when you try to make an appointment it’s too hard for them and they appear not to try and help you. I know there is a waiting list for none urgent appointments but to be spoken to the way I was made me so annoyed, as the doctors I’m dealing with are in the main very approachable. To top off the day my wife who had an appointment to see a medical professional, at the surgery was met by another gruff lady on the desk. We arrived well on time for the appointment and my wife was told to wait outside one room number . Then she waited over half an hour to be called to a different room numbert!. If the the professional was waiting for over half an hour past the appointment time with no one in there would it not have been prudent to open the door and look to see if your next patient was there or not, or to call the desk to ask them where my wife was. Because she sat outside thinking they were busy with another patient. In all a most unprofessional attitude by everyone at the surgery. This is not the first time things like this have happened and I am sure it won’t be the last, until some stronger training and management procedures are put in place.

Always friendly, never have any issues getting emergency or pre booked appointments - especially for my young children. I have always found all of the staff to be friendly and helpful - which I reciprocate. Handy that there is a pharmacy on site!

Very poor. Don’t know what’s more painful, being ill or trying to make an appointment through the “ want to be a Doctor “ receptionist. They are so unhelpful and make it difficult to make an appointment. It’s a shame really as the Doctors are really helpful. I really think they should retrain some of their front of house staff or replace them.

My GP is excellent and very thorough. Wish I could say the same regarding Practice Manager and (some of the) reception staff. Appointments for one month ahead never available because 'Practice Manager' hasn't put them on the system yet!! I work full time and need to schedule at least a month in advance. Good GP service if you work part time or unemployed / retired. Not good if you work full time ... and you need early / late appts at short notice or to plan appts / tests in advance.
