10/10. We visited this pub twice during a long weekend away. Service and atmosphere was brilliant. Location is beautiful and the food was superb. Would definitely recommend stopping for some food or a drink with the locals. Dog friendly too. Lovely.Service: 5/5
Visited Sun 14th April 2024 for food. I had the lamb and redcurrent pie-of-the-day with Sunday trimmings, followed by the crumble. My friend had the grilled halloumi. All the food was excellent with good portion sizes. They also had very well kept hand-pumped ale from the Ringwood brewery, which was one of the best beers I've had in years.
Me and my boyfriend had dinner in this lovely pub. We had the bacon cheese burger and fish & chips. It was a lovely dinner, very delicious and the waitress was lovely. We had a chat with the owner who was very nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back.Service: 5/5
Went out for a drive and came across the Trooper Inn. Had a lovely lunch of home made steak and ale pie and chips and a pint of guiness. The misses had a big portion of battered calamari and chips. The staff were lovely, will definitely be comming back for a roast dinner soon as that looked great too! Rooms: 5/5
We, 3 adults and 5 children aged 3-10, popped in for lunch on Saturday. We had a lovely meal and the gentleman serving us was very friendly and great with the kids. If we are ever in the area again, we would certainly pop in again.Service: 5/5
Our second time visiting and can definitely say that this pub is an excellent find. The Sunday Lunch is truly delicious and the chef definitely knows how to a roast beef joint! The potatoes are also good, they are generous with the gravy and the fresh hot seasonal vegetables to share are perfectly cooked. The gentleman serving at the bar is charming and the young lad doing the waiting is clearly following in his footsteps. We'll be back!
Was really surprised by this place. From looking at the pictures and then pulling into the car park i was worried, however i was very wrong. Lady on the check in desk was nice and helpful later found out she was also one of 2 bar staff on a busy friday so fair play. Room was clean, tidy, comfy bed and nice size bathroom. Food was very nice. Only thing that lets this place down is the continental breakfast is very basic and goodness knows how long the orange juice had been in the jug as it was mouldy on the inside. Would stay again, anywhere with cruzcampo on tap is a winner in my eyes
Outstanding pub with rooms. Excellent staff and service. We had some unusual requests and all were addressed quickly, easily and without fuss. One of the best pubs I’ve stayed in. It isn’t fancy or pretentious. It’s a great place to stay when enroute somewhere and you need some courtesy and comfort.Rooms: 5/5
Good pub, pleasant staff, good Sunday roast lunch. Stayed at pub CL site for two days. Fairly dangerous entry and exit onto road from pub car park so care should be taken. But all in all good value.Service: 4/5
Sure it would be nice if you where looking to escape from the rat race but I stayed for work. Needed Wi-Fi and this place may as well not have had any. No phone signal as in the middle of nowhere. Stayed as Wi-Fi was included but it actually ended up being a total nightmare and I got no preparation done for work the next day due to it. Fail.
