Only been here once before but first visit with Boothroyd. Set in an old cinema building. Very busy on this Saturday afternoon with a rugby scrum at the bar. Usual great value and 50p CAMRA voucher discount on a pint of real ale. A good 4% Purple Moose brewery Amber ale. Just too busy for me today.Service: 3/5
This one wasn't my favourite spoons out of all the others in Manchester and Greater Manchester that I've visited. Service would have been better if there were more than two, and sometimes one serving. I ordered off the app and had to go up to the bar to collect due to the long wait. Good atmosphere in here, nevertheless.
There was no wholemeal/brown bread as I can't eat white bread because of my dietary needs. I know they do GF bread but don't like the taste of the one they do as I've tried it before. Portion sizes could have been better as I found them to be bit on the smaller size, and they rewarmed my beans as they were cold instead of giving me fresh ones.
Very small Spoons with car park nearby free for 3 hours. Cozy with local feel… everything spot on!Food: 5/5
Fine as a drinking place to visit with friends. Can get rowdy/noisy. Great, wide selection of drinks, at very reasonable prices. Crowd varies from Senior Citizens nursing half a pint through Late Middle-Aged “Lads” on their weekly meet-up, to teenagers downing whatever spirits are on special offer that night. Food reasonably priced too, but nothing special.
It's ok it's a pub.. somewhere to sit drink and meet people . I don't drink myself but was only in there to meet some mates. We had a great time but we could have had a great time catching up anywhere .. Can you tell I'm not really a pub fan lol Toilets are not well signed and there was some guy on a stool who seemed to be directing people.. he was a bit rude too.. or maybe he was just a town drunk.. but if they were clearly signed visible from anywhere in the room this guy on the stool directing people rudely would be out of work. . Not sure what was going on there ? Anyway sorry my review isn't helpful but if you want to meet someone in Urmston ..this place is as good as any . .
the staff were unhelpful and rude. the toilets were filthy. most of the clientele appeared to be on benefits. a crackhead approached me and tried to sell me bacon. five peopleone of them 3 times tried to scrounge a cig off me. one person took a dead cig from an ashtray and asked me for a light. a female who looked like she had been tarred and feathered then shaved offered me a blowie if i would buy her a pint.
Lovely Wetherspoons! It can be pretty busy but it is usually nice! Service can vary, again, depending on the level of busyness in the restaurant but the food is really good and the staff is really friendly!!Food: 5/5
Tremendous atmosphere, you'll need to wait a bit in a queue, but definitely a great place for a beer. Very good prices. Can't rate the food thoughService: 4/5
It's one of the Spoons that could really do with a freshen up. I have been before when a pint of Corona tasted like bleach....not that I drink bleach too much . The pub smells and just feels neglected. Compared to Castle in the Air near the Trafford Centre, this is a bit minging tbh. I'm a big Wetherspoons fan and will always visit the local ones when I'm away from home for a mixed grill, cos it's still fantastic value for money.....even if it has crept up over the last couple of years. The service was still good, and the food is still good here. It's just the building that lets it down I'd say. New carpet, a lick of paint and maybe new furnishings....and it'll be nice.
