First time back in Barrow since covid hit, pub had been taken over and food has gone down hill. I ordered a burger which was fried, onions rings really greasy and chips are cheap and nasty. There were 3 of us and my friend enjoyed her chilli but the other one had ham egg and chips which was mediocre. Put us off from coming again, which is a shame as we loved the pub before, food was excellent then.
Friendly village pub. Good range of well kept beer. Reliable if uninspiring lunchtime menu. All reasonably priced
Food was incredibly tasty, ribs were falling off the bone and the burger is probably one of the best I ever tasted. Even the side salad and coleslaw were awesome Service also spot on, very friendly, polite and quick! Thank you!
Went to this pub on Saturday. There are lots of pubs with the same name. This was at Bury St Edmunds. When we walked inside, l was quite disappointed. There was no cosyness or asking us where we're from etc. It was a local pub with the people that live round and about. Nobody spoke to us. It livened later on when music was played in another room. There were people dressed up in Halloween costumes, but as the two rooms were separate, they could be heard but not seem - weird! The best bit for me was when they played 'Sweet Carolyn' . The toilets were very compact to say the least! We snuck out to find another pub...!!!
A very friendly pub. Plenty of people in. I had chicken kiev to eat which came out looking a bit over done, so i thought the chicken was going to be dry but it wasn't & actually enjoyed all the food. It was good ole fashioned pub grub. Would definitely go there again
Nice place, value for money, friendly staff and the sunday roast was amazing, good and plenty
Sunday lunch excellent value 1st class service excellent atmosphere will recommend and definitely return.
Good food, reasonable prices and really nice friendly, efficient staff. Great village pub
Good pub food and very pleasant staff.
Lovely staff and food. As a person with coeliac it was lovely to see GF dishes and those that could be adapted clearly labelled. I made my needs known to the the team before and during my visit, at the time I felt that appropriate care and attention was made. I write this several hours after eating, I've not had any reactions. I recommend this place highly as a person with dietary requirements or not for
