Not what I was expecting! Entry is less that £12 per person, and the ticket is valid for 12 months. The staff offer a warm welcome and guide you to the start of the exhibits. The section on amputation and mortuaries was very factual!! The upstair exhibits offer a different experience to the ground floor exhibits - both, I thought, are interesting. The exterior of the building is stunning. The museum is very clean and tidy.
Enjoyed every minute, very informative lots of interesting things. Fun. Great layout. We spent nearly 4 hours walking around taking everything in and relaxed in the cafe for a lovely coffee. Definitely worth a visit. Learning so much as you walk around.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Brilliant place. So much to see, very informative. Friendly staff. Really covers just about everything regarding medicine. Great place for adults and children alike. Admission cost is high but when we went the tills were down but we donated the same amount. Well worth a visit if your interested in medicine.
I’ve had the joy of visiting many times over the years and have always left excited to come back. The journey taken on the first floor of the museum gives an interesting and engaging insight into 1800s life and relationship to healthcare. I definitely recommend visiting this museum. I do feel the new second level of the museum could benefit from some clearer direction, or perhaps storytelling, to help guide and engage. There are lots of interesting ideas up there, but I didn’t feel the same connection to the displays and information as downstairs. What stories is that floor trying to tell? How should those stories make us feel?
We enjoyed our visit tremedously. The museum is well designed with a lot of interesting and top notch exhibits on display. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it's great value for money. We particulary appreciated that the museum employs volunteer staff from the disabled community and gives them a voice in their exhibits as well. A particular highlight fairly early on was disease street that even involved roleplaying. One criticism would be that an audio guide would be a really nice touch since it's a lot of reading otherwise.
I never even knew this place existed plus open to the public in all my 15 years of being a patient at st James Bexley wing so it was nice to attend a mpd forum the rooms were open n clean very spacious great for this kind of event plus very impressed with the facilities/The staff were very helpful so yes if you ever get a spare 30 mins they also have a cafe .
I visited here about 25 years ago and it seemed better then it terms of more exhibits to look at. Now a lot more of it is interactive on screen so in my opinion isn't as good. Cafe large but food choices for lunch disappointing, gift shop should be more varied. Parking is good right outside and more around if needed.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Really interesting exhibits. Could easily spend a whole day here, unfortunately we didn't allow enough time but will certainly be back. They also do a lot of discounts e.g. NHS, unemployed etc. There is also a cafe with lovely food and a shop.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
