Came here with my wife and boss (it's very nice to walk into a place for the first time with a good looking blond on each arm) for an after work drink. Newly opened after many years closed, the interior & exterior additions have been done quite well but describing itself as a 'village pub' is not an accurate description. The place looked very foodie centric, most tables laid out for diners - but 4 real ales to choose from including Proper Job and this in very good condition. Menu looks basic, but covers the most popular dishes - note to self; eat here next visit. From other reviews, it seems the place has teething problems, but I'll give it a few more visits yet - as I've said, the Proper Job really was in excellent condition.

Recently refurbished when we visited. Great welcome, nice surroundings and a good range of food on offer. The service was excellent and attentive. The food was super. Prices were normal for a gastro style pub. Car park was new but maybe it would be a little small on busy days.

Absolutely fantastic room. Brand new and fitted out in a 'boutique' style. Not a huge room but everything from the soft fluffy towels to the high end tea/caffetiere supplied/biscuits and fizzy and still water to the simply fantastic bed (I actually looked for the brand so I can get one myself). The bathroom is brand new and works very well with the fan cutting off straight away. Plenty of charging points. I also had breakfast at the gastro pub next door. Superb full English breakfast along with great coffee. Good parking. Recommended

Recently reopened and nicely refurbished. Food was very good indeed... Good portions and nicely presented. Would not hesitate to go back again.

Love it! The decor is quietly comfortable and the food is delicious. The pizza is excellent value for money. Overall you pay 'City' prices but it's really lovely surroundings so worth it I would say. Two veggie options (plus 2 veggie pizza options) out of a menu of 10 or so.
