This is a two star hotel with a five-star attitude. The rooms are immaculately appointed en-suite doubles traditionally designed to deliver old-fashioned comfort and ambience. Cleanliness and high standards of maintenance are everywhere. The public areas are warm and welcoming beyond what many other hotels ever achieve; this is a real home from home. The restaurant, bar, and lounge combine a subtle balance of intimacy and homely warmth that affords guests their own choice of personal space or friendly interaction with other guests. The restaurant's generous and varied gourmet menu brings you first-class choices from simple farmhouse trad dinning to four course gourmet feasts that will delight you. The wine menu is a superb selection of fine wines for every occasion which the hosts will be delighted to advise you on if you wish. The heart of The Old Malt House is the delightful family who own and run it. They host their home and their business with dedication that is reflected in every aspect of what they do and you expect. If you value the genuine, old fashioned values of service and hospitality from a family run hotel, you have arrived at the right place. In comparison with similar hotels and restaurants in Bath, the Old Malt House offers you superior value for money, service and quality of life than any other establishment. Don't get stuck in town, step 6 miles South of Bath and experience beautiful, ancient rural Wiltshire first hand.
Such a lovely hotel. I stayed here after a night out with friends. When i first entered, a nice lady took my bags upstairs for me and was ever so helpful with asking what time was convenient for me for breakfast. Beds very comfortable and room felt lovely and cosy. When it came to leaving, i had very bad signal on my phone so i couldn't order a taxi to where i left my car the night before. So the gentleman offered me a lift to my car! Lovely countryside hotel and i will gladly stay again.
This was a gem to find in an unfamiliar area where I needed a home from home stay whilst completing a British Cycling course 5 miles away. I was made very welcome by David on the phone whilst booking and Jen at the Hotel. Very clean and warm throughout with an amazingly comfortable bed for the night. Windows are openable important as I like a cold bedroom and warm duvet! The evening meal was delicious and at a reasonable price. Breakfast was inclusive and delicious with Fruit juices, cereals and variety of cooked food, toast and tea/coffee. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you very much.
If you want a getaway from your busy life in the city, turn back the time a bit, this is the place. Though you have a wifi access, the building is made with stonesI love it beautifully decorated on the ouside with natural flowers and the green vegetation at the back is my favourite. I have to equally appreciate the friendly staff that made it worthwhile. How on earth can I not mention the freshly made food is definite top notch. One of the amazing experience is the road to this hotel, the scenery that shows how amazing our world is.
Great hosting by the owners, really felt like home from home. Reccomend the evening meal which was lovely and great company after dinner. Breakfast as advertised 'substantial'.Rooms: 5/5

Stayed on business for two nights! The owners and all staff were amazing! Nothing was to much trouble. Food was excellent and amazing value. Super comfy bed, clean and tidy room. Wonderful location, very quiet. Highly recommend staying here! Many thanks !
Stayed here for my birthday weekend with my partner, landlady was very welcoming & friendly! It was home away from home for us, lovely cosy rooms, delicious food and extremely helpful staff! We ended up having alot of problems with our truck so ended up staying an extra night and the landlady was so kind and helpful going out of her way to help us and make sure we was ok. Will be recommending to everyone we know to stay here if they are in the area, lots of things to do and so many friendly people around! Thankyou for a lovely get away xx
Warm welcome. Excellent breakfast. For a small hotel there was a good selection to choose from for dinner. A little gem tucked out in the country. Would certainly recommend and plan to return.
Quaint and friendly. Best feature has to be the lounge bar with woodburner. Dinner excellent and breakfast good and filling. Good parking. Bedroom warm, clean and tidy. Electric shower. Would we go back? Yes
