Having recently taken over Durleighmarsh Tea Barn this year we are very excited to share our cooking and our experience in catering with our customers.
We’ve run Alexandra’s Kitchen as a husband-and-wife team since 2003. We create many of our dishes ourselves, drawing on the combined skills and knowledge of our very different culinary backgrounds.
Alexandra, who trained at the UK's longest-established professional cookery school, Tante Marie in Woking, is fully versed in classic English and French cuisine, while Nor specialises in curries and other specialities from his native Malaysia.
Seasonality, food miles and the provenance of ingredients is nothing new for us: it’s been the basis of everything we’ve done throughout our 10 years in catering. And when you’re growing the herbs, salads and flowers you’re using to flavour and decorate your dishes in your own gardens, you can’t get much more local and seasonal than that!
As well as catering the lunchtime meals and afternoon tea’s at the Tea Barn, we are also available for private hire at small events. We are able to arrange linen, crockery, glassware and supply waiting and serving staff for any small event such as a lunchtime or dinner party in your own home.
