This pub seems to have lost its way since it changed hands recently, it speaks volumes the efficient helpful staff that worked there before the change over left one by one and seem to have been replaced with youngsters who don't know their trade well enough and simply don't have the skills to do the job. The bar staff had trouble working out people's bills, and could not seem to work the new tills. The kitchen staff can't cope on busy days, and do not appear to be fully trained. On 31st March we went with friends to give it another try, big mistake, we waited almost an hour for our food, which when it did arrive was poorly cooked, toasted food was barely toasted, and smothered in a sauce that was not mentioned on the menu. The table adjoining our had food served to some and not others, and a pie was frozen in the middle still. As we left people were queuing to get refunds, newly decorated more attention should be paid to trained staff and good service. We were regulars ,but not any more.

Never been moved to write a review before. This place can't decide if it's a caff or a pub. 5 staff doing nothing. Do we take a seat, do we wait to be seated? 45 min wait for fish finger sandwiches, soup and a salad for lunch when the place was not busy. No apology, no recognition. Staff not at all rude or malicious, but just utterly unaware of the basic steps of service and why they are important. Food really pretty good, otherwise I'd take a serious chomp out of them. By the way, fish fingers should be breadcrumbed, not battered.

Went for lunch and arrived at midday. Had to wait for over an hour. Food was horrible when it arrived. Asked for a side plate and was told they couldn't find any so brought me a saucer. Will not go here again. Shame as it used to be ok a free years ago

Keep having lunch here, although the food is good, we've waited over 30mins so far, with the average wait 20mins for all the times we've been here
