Found the room via a third party website.nChecked some reviews on here and it seemed OK. Wish I'd dug a little deeper and read about the rooms!nThe high stars come because people like the food.nThe room was very tired. Smelt of stale cigarette smoke. Weirdly hot at night even with no heat on and window open. I wanted to cut the owners some slack as they've recently had a fire in their kitchen and know times are hard for small businesses. But then we saw an advert for their other hotel which seems to have had investment in it, the room needs some of that tlc.
We called in for Sunday lunch on 291224.nThe pub place was buzzing, but we were still offered a table to dine.nWe picked the roast dinner, and it arrived with a full plate of quality food and carefully balanced Yorkshire pudding on top.nWe sampled various real ales and enjoyed the afternoon.nAll the staff were happy and smiling and doing a great job.n£15 for a good plate of food with plenty of gravy.nPlenty of beers...makes a happy customer.nWe will return, I'm sure. They even offered water for my wife guide dog.
Called in for a drink and ended up staying for food. And I’m glad we did. I had the mixed grill £31.50p and my partner had belly pork £20. It was quite busy, even though it was mid week, but didn’t have to wait too long. Food was amazing and service was attentive. Highly recommend.
Ate here with family on Saturday evening. I had the burger platter. I can honestly say it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Absolutely outstanding. Beer was on top form too.nnStaff were great - very attentive to our son's severe nut allergy.nnA first class, well run pub. Top marks.
This is by far the friendliest pub I've found in a long time.nnThe team are extremely helpful, accommodating and welcoming.nnGreat beers on draft and a laid back atmosphere when you've a pooch and little one.nnHighly recommend!
