We called late in the afternoon about a camping pitch and were made most welcome. Lovely people in the pub who couldn't do enough for my wife and three girls. Thank you

The worst and most horrible B&B we have ever had. Cramped, grimy, sordid, ugly. Sloping worn-out mattresses on narrow beds and bathroom so small that shower door, toilet seat and bedroom door knocked against each other. No soap, half a toilet roll, tiny delapidated mirror propped up on the mini washbasin. The pressed cardboard floor had gaping holes where it failed to meet the walls. Throughout the night a loud thundering (water pump?) each time the toilet was flushed or the wash basin used. Breakfast stated to be at 9. At 9.20 I was still sitting at a bare table in the dark room when 4 half-full cereals packets were dumped at the other end of the table with 2 metal spoons and 2 bowls. Later toast burnt black under the fried egg. Coffee was instant coffee in a mug wuth a metal spoon sticking in it and the still undissolved coffee powder floating on the hot water. Toast with marmelade was not offered. All this for 90 £. We had arrived the evening before at 7 and were told the room had not yet been made up. If we had seen it then, we would have left immediately. As it was, at 8.30 it was too late to search for anywhere else and, unsuspectingly, we had already paid. A rip-off! There was no point talking to the owner next morning. She was stony-faced, unfriendly, and knew full well what she was doing. We were just glad to dump the jeys and leave.
