Super-Welcoming Eatery/Drinkery...nnI used to visit this place on a regular basis, back when I was living in this part of the country. Having been here a couple of times now when I've been in town, I have to say that the Tavern still scores full marks on so many fronts.nnThe staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Drinks are priced fairly, and the food is of good quality, and the atmosphere is unfailingly welcoming.nnThe Tavern really does score full marks across the board.nnPro-Tip: If you're planning a function, the Tavern has two rooms available for hire. Prices for this are more than reasonable, and the Tavern's staff will bend over backward to make sure that everything is just perfect, no matter what you have planned.
Decent pub loads of regular normal people decent beer very local for us worth trying. Ps not like the donkey as you actually get served quicker!!!
A little hidden gem, log burner, cask beer in great condition, and £3.50 a pint, great value.
Went here when on holiday to Clacton, was a lovely little pub, bar staff were friendly and attentive, table service only because of covid situation, also Saturday night live music was on, toilets were clean
Beer's are very good well kept, friendly staff, enjoyed my stay.
