For 3 stars this hotel just outside Clacton but within walking distance was really good. It was clean and bright with really friendly staff at the front desk. The food was of a good quality and reasonably priced. The room was very big and had a good selection of teas and coffees with a coffee machine too. Bed was comfortable. I marked this down a star for a few reasons. The phone in the room didn't work so had to go down to order room service, room service charge was £5 which for a 3 star was quite steep. My room at the top of the stairs could hear the noise from the bar and restaurant at night and strangly was awoken at 1:30am by what i heard to be someone vacuuming the stairs! All that aside would definitely stay again.
Waited 1 hour and a half to be served cold drinks at our table of 4. Then out food order didn't come out all at once by the time 2 of us finished eating only then the other 2 were served the food they ordered. I guess making a toasted sandwich is the most complicated item on the menu. As beautiful the place is inside I wasn't impressed at all. My husband was also in a wheelchair and we were dumped at the furthers table at the back which made it like mission impossible in the wheelchair to get to our table and then to leave as we had to disturb a table of 20 people to get them on feet so wheelchair can exit. Completely understaffed and the staff they got they don't really know what they doing.
I am a deputy manager at a local nursing home. We took our residents for afternoon tea, along with family and staff members, a total number of 11. The atmosphere was calm, which is perfect for our residents who suffer with dementia. The staff were very polite, attentive and went the extra mile to ensure everyone including our resident celebrating her birthday, had an amazing time. The afternoon tea was simply sublime and we will have no hesitation on returning again in the future. Thank you to everyone in front of house and behind the scenes for outstanding 5*service which was simply Wheelchair accessibility: We required wheelchair accessibility which was very good. Dietary restrictions: Offered gluten free
For starters this should most definitely be a 4 star hotel not a 3! From the moment I arrived I was treated amazingly. The decor and cleanliness of this hotel is definitely worth a mention, it beautiful, the lounge/bar and dining room is a lovely sea facing, well spaced out area. The menu is very good and the food itself is very well presented large portions and absolutely delicious! The hotel is very well staffed with potentially the nicest group of young people I have had the pleasure to be around, polite and respectful with beautiful manners, I must mention Brandon if IV got your name wrong luv I'm sorry what a nice lad, for god's sake put him on reception This has been the best UK break I have had and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Well done and il be back in September.
Enjoyed a work team evening out recently. The service was quite slow but the good was good, although we weren't offered the specials and didn't find out about them until we had all ordered. Place was very busy and had live music which was enjoyable but a little too loud. Found ourselves having to shout for conversation. Perhaps keep the volume lower while people are eating then turn it up later?
We treated ourselves to an afternoon tea. It was absolutely delicious. A great choice of sandwiches and cakes. The scones were warm. Couldn't fault it. The staff were very helpful and polite. The restaurant was very clean. We loved the decor.Food: 5/5
Went for a Mothers Day dinner, good overall service considering there were 7 of us. We had a set menu consisting of 3 starters, 3 mains, and 3 desserts to pick from. I had tomato soup to start with a roast beef dinner and sticky toffee pudding. All were cooked and presented really well. In fact, the main was delicious . One of our kids was not interested in the set menu. However, the team at Kingscliff was happy to make him a burger. We thoroughly enjoyed our Kingscliff experience, and we will be back.
Myself and my family love coming here for the air show always clean ,staff are very welcoming, lovely food ,beautiful rooms
We had afternoon tea and it was delicious. Also good value for moneyFood: 5/5
Lovely contemporary decor with nautical feel. Staff were friendly and approachable, also efficient. Well done Ruby. Food was excellent and good value. Parking: Parking is to rear of hotel and free to residents after you register number plate.
