Stayed for one night. Friendly welcome, clean and comfortable room. The food was very good, brilliant service both evening meal and at breakfast. We had to park in a street on arrival late morning as the town was very busy.nWe were able to move close to the pub on the pay & display car park once day visitors had left late afternoon. This wasn't a problem but is something to be mindful of when visiting. We will most definitely stay here again.
Great rooms , clean , comfortable and everything you need.nReally good breakfast, and the pub is a delight, with good food and ales and fantastic atmosphere.
There were no clear signs, stating dogs were not allowed in the bar. There was a sign outside stating dogs on leads. So this is where the confusion is. I went up to the bar to ask, but the landlady was rude to me, saying no dogs are allowed inside and asked me to leave with an attitude.nThat's fine, but there was no need to be rude. Being hearing impaired not easy hearing what she was saying .nOn top of that, a child came running up to my dogs, which startled them... Maybe children shouldn't be allowed in bars nDogs are allowed in the garden, no good if you are Solo, but good for the business, especially if you are eating.
First time eating here. Lovely meal with friends. Good size portions, nice choice. We had , Chilli, Chicken and scampi. Great service. Looking forward to going back.
Great country pub with home cooked menu. Does half size options. Great atmosphere.
