We are staying nearby and wanted a dog friendly pub with tasty food.nThe service was fantastic, very attentive and friendly.nOur food was delicious. My husband had Sausages with leek, mash, garden peas and gravy. I had the braised pork with black pudding stuffing, delicious mash, broccoli and gravy. It’s the best pub grub we’ve had in years!nIf we come back to this area again, we will definitely be returning. Thank you
I frequented this establishment today, for Sunday lunch, at 2 PM. I endured a 10-minute wait before my drink order was taken. The gentleman who greeted us was commendable. The menu was presented, and I ordered the Sunday roast for two.nThe meal arrived 25 minutes later… It appeared impressive.nI specifically requested sea salt, as I avoid sodium salt unless it's for de-icing or cleaning purposes. The response was that none was available. I then asked for peppercorns in a grinder, which they did furnish. I inquired about mustard, once from the gentleman and again from a colleague. Twice in total; I would have preferred the mustard served with the meal, not halfway through. On the whole, the food was satisfactory. Additional gravy was supplied. I requested a glass of water at the conclusion of the meal… It never materialized.nI opted to proceed to the bar to settle the bill.nMy impression is that the staff require training on the significance of service. Furthermore, the venue wasn't particularly bustling, but if one operates with 15 tables, it’s imperative to have the personnel and training to adequately support 15 tables. I genuinely believe my observations are constructive. It’s not arduous to execute correctly.nI would return. And I trust the service will ameliorate.nAndy Bird
Spent a few nights here. Very comfortable room, great breakfast and amazing dinner options. The food quality was very good. Usual waiting time for meals and definitely worth the wait.nVery quiet location. Didn't hear the people in the pub while in our room.nThe staff were friendly and helpful.
Went here last night... And the only true justice to say how good it was is simply WOW.... The BEST FOOD.. Luke the chef is clearly passionate about his food.. This guy needs to be THE HEAD CHEF...David was just so lovely and attentive to everything, he was happy to talk to us about the history of the pub and nothing was too much trouble. There's a clear winning team.Absolutely amazing and we will be back. Thank you so much especially David for making our visit so lovely.
This is an amazing venue with the best quality food and the highest quality of staff, always a pleasure to go and have at The Huntsman. The service is always amazing despite how busy it gets and the food is always amazing. If you are every get the chance, I would highly recommend a visit. Book in advance to ensure your not disappointed.
