Welcome to The Raven Hotel, a former 17th century coaching inn where we delight in offering our guests a friendly service, truly tasty food, fine wine, local ale and individually styled, comfortable accommodation.

Food is our particular passion acknowledged with 2 Rosettes by the AA. As well as a loyal local following both leisure and business guests have made us their favourite and return time and again to enjoy modern British cooking using superb local and seasonal ingredients at their very best.

Rating the paid parking managed by The Raven. Appalling system. Downloaded the Ringgo parking app no way to pay cash, but the app is in German with no way to change language. Then tried calling the number listed, automated voice that didn’t recognise the make of our car. Then it sent automatic text and tried getting me to text info back, still not recognizing our common style car. Ended up driving off and parking on the street.nSeriously change to EasyPark or one of the usual parking systems.
This review is for the accommodation not the pub.nnAwful check in experience, self check in with key lock code required.nnCode weren't sent through prior to check in. I spent 30 on a call submitting photo ID and deposit for damages before they gave a code to enter the property. There isn't a phone signal therefore need to use pub WiFi
Great location, lovely seating area inside since the refurb but the thing that really lets this place down is the toilets. The menns toilets are horrific my partner said there was sick, poo and wee everywhere. Considering it's just been refurbed cleanliness is a basic standard. Womens toilets had poo stains and a yellow toilet bowl, the smell was akin to a nappy bin that hadn't been emptied and the mirror had spit/splash marks. Also people openly vaping at the bar. Such a shame but completely put us off. Don't think we would return.

Booked a meal for Hubby, Son & myself in the Lounge for my Son’s birthday, it was such a lovely meal that we booked for the Sunday Lunch a couple of weeks later.nThe Sunday lunch menu had a great selection, we all opted for the Beef and Yorkshire pudding , the Beef was wonderful, cooked to perfection.nAt 2 courses for £26 or 3 courses for £29 it offered great quality at good value.nHaving only moved to the Town 6 months ago I wish we had tried the food here sooner, it will be so sad if we lose this venue.
