We chose The Swan as it came highly recommended so we chose it when visiting Beccles. Great location, nice atmosphere with varied areas for drinking, socialising, and eating. Despite only having a small simple menu, there was a good variety and the food was superb. Large portion and great produce. The service was really good, and the prices extremely reasonable. I would have rated them 5 stars because we absolutely would return - however we found a small piece of plastic packaging in our salad, and one of our bottles of wine we ordered arrived having already been opened with a small bit missing - but I chose to not even mention it as everything else was superb. Well worth trying.

Really nice restaurant run by very friendly people. The food is delicious and very generous servings. Very nicely presented. Fully intend to return for the Sunday roast very soon.

Great carvery, one of the best I've ever had. But the wait for our table was very bad, in the end they had to tell the people in our table to leave, they need better management of their bookings, especially when it comes to large bookings. Not a great selection of ales either, but nice surroundings to have a drink and plenty of parking. Not very child friendly as the desserts will not be portioned smaller, but the toilets are clean.

I wanted to give this motel the highest standard as they got all the important things right where so many others fall short, ultra clean, new linen and towels, purpose built rooms not in an old building. Modern fittings and shower. But 2 small things stopped it from being perfect. American motels believe all rooms should have tissues as using toilet paper for blowing your nose is uncouth, as do I, my hope is that all motels in the UK tbink like this soon. The other tiny thing, if you are going to use the bar as a reception, then put up a RECEPTION sign to let us know. I will use again when I require accommodation in this area.

A lovely place to stay with very friendly staff and excellent food. Will definitely return here.
