A lovely Suffolk pub, we ended up here by chance having been rained out of a local event. Staggering soggily through the door the staff managed to seat us quickly despite the restaurant being fully booked. Good selection of Adams beers on tap and a varied menu. The children loved the handmade chicken nuggets with the chef's own extra crispy batter. The curry was well seasoned and delicious. Well worth a meal.
Had evening meal with friends. Very busy, good atmosphere, good service but our food was not good. Extremely long wait...one friend had to leave before her meal arrived. Sure it will improve when new chef arrives...we were told old chef had left. Think we'll wait till new one comes before returning.Rooms: 5/5
Over 20 of us went for a works night out. The service was outstanding, the staff were amazing, & the food was fantastic & all came out at the same time. I'm looking forward to returning soon with friends. The pub is welcoming & has lots of seating be it for a crowd or a cosy date night. Easy to get to as it's set back on the A12 with lots of parking. Food & drinks: Fantastic menu with lots of locally sourced produce, & very generous well presented portions. Great selection of gins, spirits & beers too.
We had a very pleasant 3 night stay. The room was spacious, the bed very comfy. Breakfast was good and the staff are all very lovely. It is on the side of the A12 but our room was at the back and the road noise was not really a problem. Rooms: We had room No2. It is a large spacious room with a double bed and a sofa bed. A vanity desk, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Large bathroom with a bath and a nice powerful shower. One minor issue a replacement mirror is needed above the vanity desk screws in wall but no mirror!! Food & drinks: Very substantial breakfast. Cereals and fruit, lighter hot options or a full English. All very well cooked. We had the Valentines menu, 3 choices for each course, very well presented and very tasty.
The accommodation was spacious, clean and quiet. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. I will most definitely be returning in the near future. Thanks to all the team at the Plough for taking such good care of us.Rooms: 5/5
Had to decamp from the 5 Bells for our breakfast & wasn't disappointed. Lovely staff and a tour of the huge very comfortable rooms including a family room. Would recommend based upon a very brief encounter with the place and the manager. Location is very accessible in it's own layby on the A12 a couple of miles from Wrentham.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed here for 1 night on Saturday, 21 January 2023. This is a great Inn but sadly had to lose 1 star as the double bed that my husband & I had to share was so tiny it made sleeping not as comfortable as it could've been. Also the wait for dinner was super long about 2 hours. Unfortunately they were so short staffs & had a new chef, hence the delay. We are a party of 4 with 3 adults & 1 child my son 18 & daughter 14. Usually we have to get 2 rooms to accommodate our family but here, they have a room big enough for us with 1 double sofa bed. So I would say yes! This place is worth it's money for a stay. It's beautifully located & the staffs were amazing!
Very nice Mothers day. Free lovely roses for Mums. Food very nice, a little ow because they were very busy. Staff all very nice and helpful and friendly.Rooms: 5/5
Oct 22 We stayed three nights and ate an evening meal on two nights. This is a really relaxing venue. It's a spacious pub with adjacent rooms that are generous in size and nicely furnished. The menu is pub food but there's a real chef and she is amazing at desserts. The frangipane cake was superb and the cheese board really amazing with local cheeses such as Baron Bigod and Norfolk Dapple. Several specials each day. Welcoming staff. We will return.
Lovely clean room, great bar area ,food & service excellent.bit disappointed that I had to pay extra £40 for my dog to stay with us
