I stay here from time to time due to some work I have in Newport.  

Rooms are clean enough, staff are friendly and the food in the pub is great.  

I cant always be sure how many nights I'm staying so I kind of just turn up and leave as the work dictates.  This must be a nightmare for planning and cleaning, especially on the occasions when I'm only there 1 night, but they always seem happy to help me where they can.  For this, they deserve 5 stars from me.

Carvery is excellent and such great value.

Really beautiful pub. Staff were all really friendly and everyone enjoyed the food. The trio of desserts was amazing with the brownie, cheesecake, and profiterole. Make sure you book ahead though on a Sunday because it's really busy

Friendly staff but the room I stayed in was in need of a face lift. It was clean and comfortable and did what I needed it to. Breakfast was bad I had the full English breakfast but i only ate the beans and toast.

Recently booked a family event for 20 people. Service, facilities, friendliness, food, atmosphere, all excellent. Will visit again.
