Absolutely stunning location and the old Inn is steeped in history and fascinating artifacts. The menu was very hearty and reasonably priced. We did not eat on this spontaneous fleeting visit, just a non alcoholic lager of which there was a variety on offer as it is out on the hills and driving necessary! Will come back for food and may be a stay over one day!! Live on South Coast of England so quite a distance! Just beautiful.
Awful. Never had such a tasteless, microwaved Sunday lunch in my life. We had been hiking for the day as was looking forward to some good pub grub. The beef was like leather and we fed most of it to our dogs. The veg had clearly been microwaved, poorly presented and definitely not worth £30. Avoid at all costs.
Fabulous views, large car park, lots of outside seating. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food we had pie of the day; chips; ice cream sundae was very tasty and arrived quickly. The prices are what we expected for the area. The peacocks around the back are beautiful.
This used to be a Rustic, Historic Pub. It still is. But it's gone beyond Rustic, it's now just filthy. Pride has left the pub. The carpets are filthy. The seat covers are filthy. The paintwork is filthy. Every plant pot outside is full of cigarette butts. The pub sign is decaying. The outdoor seating is tatty. There are random metal bins in front of the pub. The paint is pealing off the windows. What was once a nice rustic country pub, is now simply, in need of some investment. It's tatty, and dirty. Rustic does not compensate for dirty.
Had a lovely Sunday roast beef dinner, followed by treacle sponge and custard ... all superb.. staff friendly, really enjoyed it ... dog friendly ... Will visit there again ....Service: 5/5
Old pub in a wonderful setting. Very popular in the summer months. If the weather is good then sit outside, enjoy the views and the company of the peacocks that reside there. On colder days sit inside the old quaint rooms. A good selection of food is available, a little on the expensive side but still acceptable and of good quality. If you want to stay there are rooms available.
Nice spot in the middle of nowhere. Great staff, very welcoming and a great and well kept beer selection. Had a roast as it was Sunday. Gotta do it. Wasn't the best roast I've had but it was ok. Beer garden is lush and a nice family orientated environment. Would definitely return!
Pleasant surroundings and staff. The food was outstanding, home made and tastey. The views from this place are something else. Worth a visit.
A lovely pub. It was nice talking to the barman and other staff were friendly despite it being relatively busy. It's also dog friendly without exception as far as I can see, which makes everything much easier.
Excellent pub. Quality and a wide range of drinks. Food excellent. Views are outstanding. Well recommended for a visit. Lovely walks nearby.
