Nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty-Kirkham Abbey, we a are a fresh food- Yorkshire inspired business.

Story

Since taking over this country pub our first step was to introduce a fantastic fresh food, locally sourced menu. We are passionate about creating superb food & drink - topped with extremely warm hospitality.

A real destination place for everyone to visit and take in our breath taking picturesque views of Kirkham Abbey. We have tried to create an atmosphere that makes all our guests feel as though they are in a home from home.

The building itself is super quirky which we absolutely love. Over the coming months we will be giving the place a facelift whilst remaining true to its roots whilst working with its original charming features, such as the open fire places & exposed stone walls.

I've visited here several times over the years but our latest visit since the arrival of new management! was special. My husband and I took our little dog out for a walk on Boxing Day and wanted to follow it up with a few quiet drinks at the pub. Alex and Shannon were only too happy to welcome us and the atmosphere was lovely, with locals and off-duty members of staff all chatting and supping together. The pub was decorated so festively and it looked great. They allow dogs and our young pup was fussed and treated like a queen. The pub dog Tweed is a very good boy. We passed several very happy hours relaxing in the bar and are eager to return to try out the food menu! Come here if you like good old-fashioned pubs with a crackling fire, friendly staff and what looks like a delicious new menu. You'll get a warm welcome! Parking: Parking is right next to the pub on a slight incline, with gravel underfoot.
Seven of us had Sunday lunch today and we all enjoyed the food and lovely service. The menu is quite limited on a Sunday but there was something to suit all our tastes. Grandma could have done with a steak knife to cut her huge Yorkshire but that was our fault for not asking. Good communication to warn us about the bridge closure and to confirm our booking of an extra guest.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Best Sunday roast I've had in ages - slow cooked but pink beef incredible. Wife's vegetarian meal Beetroot Wellington really good too. Generous portions and fantastic food, in a lovely setting - with friendly staff. Good beer selection too. Dog and child friendly as well. They have a small menu to choose from, but that's a good thing for a Sunday roast I reckon. Will definitely be back.
Drinks were flat cola burger was raw and I like my meat pink informed them but the male server didn't even apologise or recognise the issue. Venue was nice but that was about it overpriced and didn't even take the service charge off even though we brought it to their attention about being dissatisfied.Food: 1/5
Took my Father-in-law for a meal here last night. The food was excellent- we had two steaks both cooked differently, but to perfection, while my wife had the "not fish and chips" which was a very good portion of deep fried halloumi. Will definitely be coming here againFood: 5/5
A cold experience. Would expect in a country pub on a cold wet April day a log fire lit, especially with logs stacked at the side of the fire. Some guests were heard saying it was cold, putting their coat's back on before food arrived.Food: 5/5
Fantastic Pub, a special place for me and my partner. Food is fantastic and a great selection of ales. VEG vegan options are fantastic!

Incredible meal. Highly recommend. Look no further for delicious food, attentive and friendly staff and a perfect setting and atmosphere. You will not be disappointed. Also, get the duck main. It was amazing.
