Visited this restaurant last nite. We were a group of four an all had different things from the menu. The food was first class. Clear plates all round. The game pie with red cabbage out of this world. 5 stars all day

Really great food, and a classic but sophisticated pub feel. Charcuterie was a wonderful starter and plenty of food for two hungry diners. Lamb shank also sizeable (might have wished for more dauphinoise with it if it wasn't so ample). Guinea foul also strong. Sticky toffee pudding was perfect - number 2 in Visit Malton's Top 10 Sweet Tastes, and fairly so. The selection of small puddings was the only slight miss for us. Perhaps a little much going on, though, in fairness, we didn't fully understand what we were ordering when we ordered. Fully intend to go again.

A very pleasant, freshly prepared meal in a spacious, clean environment. In the heart of the town with good, on-street parking literally just outside!
