Unfortunately both my husband choice and my choice were off the menu. So we went for the satay sticks which as usual were perfect. Then he had mushroom wellington and i had a side salad . The Wellington was lovely. The side salad consisted of chopped onion, cherry tomatoes rocket and baby leaf mix. Not a patch on what it used to be when it included runner beans and cucumber with dressings. A real dissapointment. Our friends had liver and vegetables and a very large portion of chicken wings. No complaints here. I did however mention the bins in the ladies which was full and overflowing onto the floor. The waiter service was brilliant. Very attentive.
As it’s just off the M25 this makes for a great alternative to the Cobham services, if you have the time. A good welcome, nice, basic pub-grub food and lager, dog friendly in the area just inside the main entrance which is nice. Car park is always busy yet you can find a space so not an issue.
Bland underwhelming food with very high prices. However decent service and it's a nicely decorated and well maintained pub. Perfect for a few drinks. In terms of the food, I ordered the ultimate burger which is advertised as a 10oz burger with cheese, bacon, lashings of BBQ sauce, burger sauce, tomato, lettuce, red onion, gherkin, onion rings, slaw and skin on fries for a whopping £17.95. Patty sizes were good but my burger was bland, only a little bit of burger sauce noted. Gherkin missing, patty overcooked with no moisture and crumbling. Bread crumbled in my hand as soon as I picked it up even though it was dry. The so called lashings of BBQ sauce is served seperately on the side. It's quite a watery sauce with the consistency of watery gravy. On the plus, chips were nice although I wouldn't exactly call them Skin-on-fries as advertised. They were also quite a small portion. Ultimate burger should come with ultimate chips. Definitely not worth almost £18. This dish also came with two separate onion rings on top and coleslaw on the side. The burger was constructed with a onion ring inside which was quite chewy. On the bottom of the burger they used red onion. It doesn't make sense to have both types of onion on top and bottom, one cooked and one raw with two varying flavours. Wife ordered Chicken ceaser salad which is advertised with croutons, parmesan & anchovies. This was made with basic lettuce, had only four croutons and only three small anchovies. It was also three average sized bits of chicken. This salad was a whopping £13.95. On the plus, ceaser sauce was nice. Very basic and small salad for almost £14. Kids chicken Goujons with chips and baked beans ordered for £7.50. Kids loved the chips but again these chip were too small a portion and only 3 small chicken Goujons provided. In my opinion just average pub food but at a higher than average prices. I attended over the bank holiday weekend so who knows, maybe the ingredients were not as fresh Lastly, the main attraction for me was the advertised play area. It was this that initially attracted me to this pub. I was quite disappointed in it as it is quite basic. It's literally a teepee, a small bridge and a fixed small wooden train. Whilst it looks nice, Kid's got bored after 10 minutes. A slide wouldn't go amiss. Also, not sure if this is staff but bicycles were left on the side of the play area. So if a child runs in to them, there could be an accident. I also attempted to use the app to order but was advised against it by staff, not sure why. Maybe the app is not great. And for those that are interested, this place does not offer blue light card/emergency services discount. Overall, should I go there again, it is a nice pub and friendly staff but I will just stick to the drinks.
This was our first time here, and we came here because of the vegan menu. The staff were very nice - friendly and informative. The food was really good. Will definitely be back!
Really really really nice chicken and rib combo. Had the garlic and her dough balls to start also and they were nice. Was disappointed with the apple crumble as there wasn't much apple, and the crumble was a bit well done. Lovely outdoor seating area at both front and back. Little booth/huts which have heaters and plastic zip down covers also. Will definitely return! Had the same main meal again today and still great! Service was a bit slow but was quite busy.
Fantastic experience at this pub. What sets them apart is the staff - from when we were welcomed to when we left they were all so friendly, went beyond expectations and made us feel super comfortable. They even treated the little ones with so much respect. The setting was also brilliant. On the hottest day of the year, being able to sit outside in the beer garden was much needed…there’s a small play area for little kids to keep them entertained. The food was very delicious and portion sizes were huge…we had the steak, sea bass, chicken kebabs, chicken and beef burgers, the ribs and the pizza pizza was the only one that disappointed, it was a little too dry. I would come back to this place again and again now that I’ve found it!! Thank you so much for looking after us!
The star can be hit or miss. I've had some great meals here and very mediocre ones also. Service is generally OK, and rarely great. Their current 2022 menu is a bit lack luster, their Calamari wasn't seasoned and a bit overdone, burger was OK, dough balls were unimpressive. Outside seating is nice and their range of drinks is impressive.
Pub is excellent, service was great as well. Food came quickly. We ordered the Ultimate Burger and for the most part it was very good, however it was advertised as a 10oz burger whereas in fact it was one large burger with a small one on top. That's not my issue, I have no problem with that, however the quality of the smaller burger was nowhere near the quality of the larger burger - it looked and tasted like a Birdseye frozen one. The large burger was excellent though! We would certainly be back - we loved the setting and the layout of the pub and there's plenty of other things I would try on the menu.
Lovely food and cocktails. Always my go to pub for good food. Thanks to Mia for making our evening enjoyable
Fairly newly and tastefully refurbished pub/restaurant wit a good ambience and atmosphere. Family gathering of 12 so had to pre-order no problem. Table was all fully prepared on arrival. They dealt with a few minor changes without any fuss. Very good professional young staff. Service was slightly slow but it was Sunday peak time. The roast was awesome and all the other orders went down well. The sweet menu was very good too. A thoroughly enjoyable family lunch much to the efficient running of this establishment. Well done. Highly recommended.
