First and only time I have been to this pub, but I thought it was great. A Thursday, early evening. Lovely staff, good beer. Great chips! This pub doesn't seem to have followed the trend to turn itself into some modern bar, and I'm very pleased about that.
Friendly pub and definitely recommend the very high class and tasty burgers. Great british pub atmosphere only let down by very basic accommodation. However the full English breakfast was delicious and the chef is worth his weight in gold. But management please spruce up bedrooms.
Room was wonderful, spacious and clean superior doublestaff were really polite&helpful, the food was sooo so delicious rib-eye steak&stilton sauce and not as expensive as we thought it would of been. Only knocking a star off because of the slightly noisy road outside bedroom window, but nothing a pair of earplugs wouldnt fix. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
The room was Adequate however the food was appalling. It came out stone cold and it took over 35 minutes to receive it in the first place. Once it was finally replaced, I was livid! The food wasn’t nice at all and to be honest I don’t know what kind of people they have in the kitchen as there was also dirt on the plate! Would definitely never stay here again and would certainly not recommend this place to anyone!
Very cosy room, couldn't hear a thing from the other rooms. Loved the shower. Had a meeting with a colleague in the pub - lovely atmosphere and the burgers and chips were amazing. Would visit again.
Room was fine and clean but food service appalling. Cooked breakfast took over an hour to be served and of poor quality. Customer service lacking, with no apology for any of the issues experienced. Seriously needs to up it's game as the location is great!
It was dark wintery night with gales and sideways rain. The trees were swaying, the streets were bare but in the distance there was a slight glimmer of hope. A speck of light... a welcoming sight... a place to put ones head to rest. The rooms were clean and the service was satisfactory but I was described a room with a trouser press but once in said room the cupboards were bare. The pub food is what can be expected but don't offend the bloke by asking for ketchup with a pie, peas, chips n gravy as he seems to think gray is for dipping chips!... Crazy fool! No problems with my stay but only giving three stars for lack of trouser press and slight lack of atmosphere in the pub below but was a week night so that can be forgiven.
Dreadful, went in with 3 mates, ordered 2 gin and tonics, pint of London Pride and a larger shandy. The barman put all the tonic in the gin and drowned it, then couldn't even find a lemon to put in. The London Pride was cloudy and with no head and looked awful. The replacement beer of another brand was not much better. Larger shandy was ok though. When you are paying £20 for a round I expect better than this. I've using this pub for the past 20 years. I think this will be my last visit. Such a shame, it needs to up it's game if it wants to survive and benefit from the 300 new houses that are planned for the village
Situated behind my old school this is the pub where to learned to drink some 50 years ago. Surprisingly it is still a pub which is now extremely unusual in Surrey, they even have a dartboard. Well recommended for those of us who can remember what a pub used to be
Friendly staff, convenient and lovely location. Good quality rooms, very clean and well kept. Selection of breakfast choices was good, and the full English was tasty and very filling!
