Love this place - doggy friendly, plenty of space, easy to order and great food. I knocked one star off because my poached eggs in the middle were a bit snotty, but that’s my preference, also the toast that my Dad got with his full breakfast had barely been toasted but it was really tasty. Looking forward to coming back and trying more
Oh yes, very nice indeed. I recommend the Deli pastrami turbo pickle sandwich I had. The tallish chatty lass sold me on it, she's reet canny. Just a lovely little spot, right on the river.Food: 5/5
Tiled floors and zinc staircase rails with safety cables and track lighting with high ceilings are a kind of post industrial loft like look. And unlike this review the place is not pretentious. Well staffed counter ordering and paying and orders bought to tables. Mix of arm chairs, sofas and straight backed table seating. Upstairs gallery area with good views. Large latte, flapjack and fruit scone with jam just over six quid. Fresh baked goods and hot dishes. Really popular, and deservedly so. Loved it. Splendid river walks, and views of the Staaiths are a bonus.
A landmark of Gateshead and Dunston. It's a light and airy cafe offering a nice view of the Staiths. It's a great way to start your day, which you can follow with a stroll along the Tyne. They serve wonderful pastries and decent quality breakfasts. The coffees are nice and they have guest chefs and dining events running throughout the month. There’s a bit of free parking outside but it can get a bit tricky at peak times.
Friendly staff, location is the best part of this cafe, lovely river view, dog friendly, free Wi-Fi. Fresh and delicious breakfastRecommended dishesTraditionnel English Breakfast
A lovely cafè with lots of healthy meals, a beautiful river view and very friendly staff. The only reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because there weren't any sugar free baked goods. Vegetarian options: There are a lot of delicious salads, omelettes and sandwiches that are vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: There are vegetarian and gluten free options
Discovered this place while riding my bike. The place is very cozy, looks so trendy and clean. Staff super cool people. I had a matcha vanilla coffee which resulted in a good surprise. It’s very smooth and I guess no need to add extra sugar, it is quite sweet, additionally I had couple of toastiest. However, one of my sandwich was manchego apple and fig jam. From my perspective and personal point of view this one goes good with green apple and raw manchego cheese, but in the coffee they used red apple and melted the cheese all together. I felt that all tastes were lost and the bread a bit soggy. I would definitely considered using green apples and maybe toast the bread but not melt all together. The Flavour gets lost. Overall good coffee, environment and a good place for the community
Had the most delicious bowl of porridge. My husband had a chicken and chorizo sandwich which was also delicious. Really friendly staff and good service.
Loved this cafe. The salad was massive and delicious. Staff were really friendly and it's a lovely spot overlooking the river with comfy chairs upstairs and nice art on the walls.
This is a great cafe with lovely, well priced food and very friendly helpful staff. We used to live nearby and visited regularly, we really enjoyed sitting outside at any time of year. We visited again a few weeks back for the first time in a while and were a little disappointed with the shelter that has been built over the outside area, whilst I'm sure it's great for the inclement weather, it was quite stifling in the summer sun. Maybe would have been better as just a canopy and not entirely enclosed?
