Great value for money and a good quiet location off the busy road. We loved the Seniors' Deal 2 courses for £4.49 and the 2 Pub Classics for £11.49 available on week days. The service is efficient and easy choose a table, order & pay at the bar and all staff is really nice. Would have loved to see few more healthy choices in the menu but overall a nice place to come and enjoy a meal and a drink.
I enjoyed this pub, it was great and big, with a section for pensioners which I thought it was niceaway from a noisy crowd. Food was great, ppl are friendly. Will be back.
I arrived today around 3pm seeking to purchase a few drinks and some food. The bar was impressively packed for this time of day. However being the holiday season and also the world cup season, this was to be expected and will require another visit at a less traditionally busy time to ascertain the general normal trading day. My overall experience was excellent. I can't fault the pub itself, the staff, the food, the drink selection offered etc I asked several couples and a table full of patrons eating meals what they rated the food out of 10. It averaged out at a respectable 8/ 10 over the board. So bravo to the chef. They were all long term return customers and had nothing but good to say about this pub. That speaks volumes to me I'm sure you will agree. The manager Mel was a delight. I was pleased to have met and spoke to her, and her willingness to solve an issue I had without hesitation was commendable. She clearly cares about this pub and it shows. I asked several staff and customers about her and they said it's been so much better since she has been running it. One staff member who had been there for a few months, told me she rated the place 8.5 / 10 to work at. I recommend you visit this place and enjoy your time in a nice traditional yet modern feeling pub l. One that welcomes you and provides an excellent service and a warm welcoming experience every time.
If you want somewhere for a first date or the 501st date, then do consider this wonderful pub. No matter how busy it gets the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food is top notch and the selection of 'stumbling home juice' is really good. Overall a wonderfully, welcoming experience.
First time eating at this establishment and did not disappoint. Food was delicious. The beef cooked to perfection and roast potatoes lovely. Highly recommended and will be returning customers. The staff aswell are a credit to this place. They did not stop making sure everyone was happy with everything and really hard working. Very impressed
Have been great everytime we have visited for meal as a family. Even though the odd time we have waited a bit for food , its always been spot on and well worth it. Always good customer service and polite. Highly recommend
I normally really like this place, it's local from where my fiancee lives so we can walk there and back from evening meals, but only this weekend January 7th 2023 we went for a meal as it was a gift card Christmas present. We were really looking forward to the meal as we'd both had stressful days, but the meal was ruined by a local drinking at the bar, he got louder and louder and verbally abusive using foul language, this really upset my fiancee so we left not even using all our gift card. I was really hoping a member of staff would of told him to calm down or even leave as I could see it wasn't only me and my partner who was getting fed up with his verbal outbursts, a night out completely ruined unfortunately.
Went here on Thursday the 8th for our works Christmas Do and would definitely recommend!!! Food amazing, staff super helpful and friendly! Allowed us to turn the music up for a little dance and provided a little heater for older ones brilliant night had by all!
We arrived and sat down. No one came over for about 6-7 mins. Then they did come over and said that they basically had no food, it was lasagne or Mac and cheese. Nothing suitable for gluten free. So we just left. Felt like we were not welcome. We went up the road and had a lovely meal up there instead.
Went to the spyglass on the 26th Jan for an evening meal only to find that they could not fry fish again, told it was due to a designated section not working but have been told it would be changed for a new one on the 27th. Sending down a mystery shopping team to check out progress. Other than that visit was pleasant and food , drinks and staff all very good.
