The Somers Town Coffee House

About

A pub, with secret meeting & dining rooms, a speakeasy cocktail club & a sun-blushed hidden garden. What more could you want?! #Dogsareourfriends

Story

Unlike its name would suggest, The Somers Town Coffee House is less of a coffee spot and more of an old British boozer with a twist…

You’ll find this gem of a pub tucked away on Chalton Street, a stone’s throw from Euston station; think rugged wooden tables, comfy armchairs and a plethora of pints to pick from.

Have yourself a good ol’ snoop around the bookcase in the back though and you might just unearth a little hidden secret. Yep, a uniquely-designed, themed dining space – known as Ssshh Supper Club – there are four different rooms, each with its own quirky interior (one has grass!).

But that’s not all. Venture downstairs and you’ll find Cosy Kettle, the speakeasy cocktail club where tasty expertly-mixed tipples are served into the the early hours of the morning…long after the main pub has closed!

All of this would mean nothing if Somers Town Coffee House didn’t deliver on food and drink – fortunately, it does! The pub boasts a whopping 12 craft ales alongside a stunning selection of lagers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. The grub is equally impressive with an all-day menu of scrumptious British classics and yummy desserts.

Finally, as if all of this wasn’t enough (you’re demanding, you!) this Central London watering hole also sports a sun-blushed hidden garden.

What was that? You’ve found Heaven? We thought so.

A brilliant pub that is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of St. Pancras/Kings Cross and Euston Stations. Easy walk . Despite the name, it is a beautiful pub that has got it all sorted. Real Ales, cold lagers, good wine selection and a garden to sit in to enjoy it. Added bonus is the Gluten-free Fish and Chips. In the evening, past 5pm, the very "cool-vibe" cocktail bar opens its doors downstairs. So you have a choice of a traditional pub OR a funky cocktail bar. A great find that just may become our "local" whenever we are staying in the King's Cross area. Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free Fish and chips done brilliantly
I love the Somers Town Coffee House - where we were sitting was quite quiet which made having a conversation very easy some pubs are too loud! and it's a very relaxing place to be. They make an excellent espresso martini here. On this visit service was slow to start with - but it did improve. Also, this venue has only recently started doing a roast lunch on Sunday and it probably wasn't the best choice for me - my friend had fish and chips and that was much better. I will definitely be back, but possibly not for the roast beef.
The Somers Town Coffee House is a great spot for a meeting or a casual coffee break. I only had a coffee this time, but the atmosphere was so inviting that I’m already planning to return and try their food menu. The setting is relaxed yet lively, making it a perfect spot to catch up or get a bit of work done without too much noise. Overall, a lovely place to unwind, and I look forward to sampling more of what they offer!
Stumbled across this place last week looking for dog friendly kings cross venues. Will now be a staple - a good few veggie options. Table service. Staff were exceptionally brilliant. Not unreasonable prices. We'll be back when we need a nice option NR kings cross.Food: 5/5
I've been here twice now and both times I've received great service and delicious food. Staff were really attentive and it wasn't a long wait for food. We went around 2.30pm on a weekday so it was fairly quiet inside. I would recommend the fish and chips. Huge portion and really nice. I also ordered the baba ganoush on my second visit and that dish was OK : Plenty of small plate options too. Would definitely recommend the fish cakes and mussels!
A charming, chill, and all-too-rare Independent tavern and coffee house tucked between Euston and King's Cross. Food looked pretty posh, but the vibe was neighborhood-friendly. While I wouldn't call this spot "cozy" it's a sizable space, it's comfortable and it was neither empty nor crowded at 10 pm on a Friday night.Service: 5/5
I booked the Somers town a few days before I was going and with there being alot of availability I wasn't sure if it would be ok, however it was a wonderful cute place for a Sunday brunch and I highly recommend, forget the new food courts and areas and find this gem just behind st Pancreas station. There was a large brunch selection including good vegetarian and vegan options, large portions, seafood, coffees and cocktails. I had the full vegan and it was perfect, highly recommend
took the small mtg room for special time with 5 friends. room was perfect... great attention to requests and to us from staff... food was very nice... the bar and restaurant buzzed with friendliness....great location close to british library... easy to find. recommend highlyFood: 5/5
What a gem hidden in plain sight. Great food, good options, great atmosphere. But the STARS of the show are the staff, they were all wonderful and so friendly. It made the visit. A massive thanks to the team.Food: 5/5
I book Meeting Rooms here regularly for various colleagues and the staff are always really helpful and friendly, the meeting rooms are great, very reasonable rates for London, with a fabulous location for the train stations. All round cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you!Food: 5/5
