OMG - bubble and squeak with cheese. The very best roast dinner ever. Fantastic food extremely clean the temperature of the food is taken every 10 minutes. What a wonderful place I will definitely be back. You are asked to wear a mask when you are near the carvery and also a glove when you are touching the utensils. I cannot rate the smugglers highly enough. Fantastic fantastic fantastic I absolutely loved it here. Great food excellent service and all very clean 10/10 brilliant
Always come here if we’re in the area as the food is wonderful and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. They are very dog friendly in here with dedicated areas to sit with the dogs, the owner had dog treats in his pocket and brought them some turkey from the carvery! The food is awesome, with a variety on the menu able to be made gluten free. The portions are are quite large as well, you get plenty of food for the money! The carvery is very good usually with 3 meats and at least 5 vegetables to choose from. Lots of car parking spaces, lots of seating inside and outside as well. Highly recommended, pre-booking advised.
Very impressed by this Inn. Spacious, ideal for disabled, very friendly staff, good variety of food on the menu. My disabled mum only eats a small meal and on the menu was a smaller appetite option, separate from the children’s menu. We’ve never seen this before. The photos of the takeaway food do not do it justice, the bread was still warm when we got home, soft, so much beef, roast potatoes only half the meal shown on photo big chunks of chicken in the sandwich just delicious. Also not full of spices… Thank you. Wifi, outside seating, lovely views, sadly the weather was awful on the day we visited. Will definitely visit again.
Made to feel very welcome. The Carvery was delicious with plenty of choice. Compliments to the chef on the seasoned veg and buttery cabbage and the homemade toffee sponge with sauce and custard was divine…
Didn't look great from the road, wasn't even sure it was open. Went into the carpark and saw it was. Wow! We weren't expecting that. Really nice inside, quite modern but nicely done. Very busy with people eating. This was about 16:30 on a Thursday. Several real ales and ciders on. Usual lagers. Quite a few busy staff running about. Everyone very friendly. We only had a cider and a prawn sandwich, which was very nice. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. This was a hot sunny day and we sat on the balcony. The view across the fields to the sea was beautiful. Worth a visit just to sit and absorb the view. Left very happy. Will call again next time in the area and try a meal. Roast dinner looked spot on.
Fabulous meal! My wife and I visited here for a meal and it did not disappoint. While the carvery looked delicious, we both opted for the burger. 8oz burger with monteray cheese. The burger wasn’t greasy and very meaty. Nice salad, coleslaw and burger relish to compliment the meal. The whole place was very clean and the staff courteous and friendly. I can certainly say that we will both return again. Thanks.
Where do I start?,me and my partner recently visited as we were on holiday and friends and family recommended this pub, on arrival we were welcomed by very friendly staff ,although we hadn’t booked we had the option of a see view table or one at the back of the restaurant, when ordering drinks we were told we couldn’t order food for another 30 minutes which was fine ,even when the time came we were told straight away that the Carvery was ready which we were very impressed with, all fresh and very tasty, and onto dessert this was amazing we shared a strawberry and meringue ice cream and enjoyed every bit, I will definitely recommend this place and hopefully visit in the future, thank you again for making us feel welcome and for the lovely cosy environment.
Absolutely cracking place to stop for a lite bite or a substantial meal or a drink or two. If the weather is warm and even sunny you are spoilt with a great view, if you walk past the cars parked up. The sun shines brightly weather you're on the grassy area or the patio. There is a very good selection of lagers, IPAs ales as well as wines and spirits. The sandwiches are Absolutely Awesome Value they are fresh tasty and well filled. They offer excellent value for money and I recommend them most highly. Arguably the best sandwiches in Devon. There is a also a hot menu including a carvery available which is popular for sure. It might be worth booking as it is often busy inside. They have a couple of house pints in a Craft Lager and an IPA. The staff are all Brilliant and so so friendly, helpful and work hard too. Very highly recommended for sure.
Arranged to stay overnight in our camper van when booking our table. Arrived at dark so wasn’t sure of the view but woke up to a gorgeous sunrise! Food was delicious, very friendly staff. Cat park isn’t too level but no problem in our small van.
Brilliant. Service is friendly, food good, atmosphere relaxing. The proprietor Nick could not be more welcoming. Highly recommended. If you are looking for a good night out, diner and a few drinks this is the place to go. We had my mother's wake at this venue in August and the staff could not do enough for us. The food was plentiful, really nice and we were well looked after. I met my brother here in November and again we could not have been made to feel more at home. Like I said at the outset, brilliant and, thank you Nick and your team.
