All in all, a good experience good food, prompt service, wine reasonable. I had a nice gammon steak and the other half had a seafood ploughman's lunch, said it was amazing! The only thing lacking was some sunshine which would have gone down well with all of us sitting outside on the terrace. Overlooking Cockwood harbour the pub boasts an enviable location, the narrow road outside provides some entertainment watching cars braking hard to avoid others on the narrow bend.
Was recommended this place by a work mate. An hours drive, but well worth it. Good old fashion coastal pub overlooking a small harbour. Friendly staff, good menu choices and some great shell fish offerings. Reasonably priced and a great sharing platter, shelly sharer. Might be worth booking, though they managed to find us a table for Saturday lunch. We shall return for sure.
Lovely pub /restaurant. Cosy atmosphere right by the harbour on the estuary. Service was great. Had the seafood shared for four and it was to die for! Will definitely be back as there are other delicious sounding things we’d like to try out.
Haven’t been for a few years now, but called in for lunch today and we were not disappointed. Helpful staff, beautiful plump mussels cooked to perfection, and a mighty fine glass of cider. Food: 5/5
Another favourite when visiting Exeter. It’s only a short train ride away and always has great seafood. And don’t forget desert. The sticky toffee pudding and banoffee pie is very good.Food: 5/5
Stopped for lunch on a Friday lunchtime and enjoyed ploughman's, mussels and scallops dishes. All excellent and using local products. We cycled there but for large car owners, be aware that the car park is 'cosy'.Food: 5/5
Absolutely stunning food. Had an extremely pleasant meal here yesterday, the seafood platter for two was among the best seafood I have ever had served to me. Highly recommend visiting and will be back specifically to eat here again. Thank you
Relatively expensive drinks at £13.95 for 2 pints of lager. Very nice location looking out to see. Outdoor area with a variety of seating- not just picnic tables but actual chairs which so many pubs forget. Can’t comment on the food although it all looked very niceService: 5/5
Very delicious food and good service ! 100% recommendations ! Food: 5/5
We come here every year for the huge seafood platter for two. It’s child friendly dog friendly and well worth a visit. Parking: There is a small carpark to the right of the front. Kid-friendliness: They were patient with my kids and friendly
