I have always enjoyed my visits to The Sir Richard Owen Wetherspoons in Lancaster, unfortunately, last night (22/09/2017) I ordered a pulled beef burger. The burger came with a mashed up mixture of beef and barbecue sauce. The menu stated that the burger came with blue cheese sauce.. I really dislike barbecue sauce, so asked the waitress if I could change my burger for one without barbecue sauce. My burger came back with a normal burger coated with the mashed up beef covered in barbecue sauce again. I scraped the mashed beef off and ate the burger, but unfortunately, the bun was soaked in the sauce so I couldn't eat that. Can you please state on the menu that the pulled beef contains barbecue sauce, if I had known, I would have ordered something else. This incident will not stop me from visiting The Sir Richard Owen again, as this has been the only time I have been dissatisfied. Disappointed. Sue Davis

Sometimes full but generally there is always space to sit, good food, good drinks, good prices and a lovely Wetherspoons atmosphere

The place gets busy. I was here about 3 months ago and all was well. Today I popped in with the family and the beer tasted awful. First was the doom bar with an odd taste to it. Then I swapped it for the Lancaster Black, that too had an odd taste. Both I'd had before from other pubs and they tasted as they should.. On top of that the tables we sat at hadn't been cleaned or cleared prior to being seated. This place in my opinion has gone to the dogs.

Having walked out of one restaurant I found this place and it certainly didn't disappoint. The staff were brilliant and very helpful, they even had a disabled lift fitted for their double floor establishment. The food was great value for money and we'll presented, with a wide variety of choice. The wait wasn't that long considering it was quite busy which is a bonus with kids. I would definitely recommend here for eating!

It's a Wetherspoons so you know what to expect. Great value food and drink of course. Staff were attentive and friendly, service was timely and efficient. Decor is pub like & functional and place looked clean & tidy. Can't comment on food quality because we didn't eat but the cask ale was well kept & pulled properly. They tend to favour stronger beers but there is usually a couple of session ales on.
