Excellent pub which serves evening meals - tables require booking and are well worth it-and is very busy at lunchtime catering for hungry walkers.They brew several extremely drinkable beers (Ship Hop and Squid Ink are especially fine). Opening hours vary with the season, and folk nights and film showings are examples of their community spirit.

Excellent crab sandwich. Good bacon and mushroom stottie. Fantastic beer. Small, lively place, fills up quickly, so seats are valuable! Queue does move quickly, but it’s easier to visit off peak. Best for atmosphere, view, simple food, great beer.

Old fashioned wood floor pub. Brew their own beer and once had a royal visit. Clean and tidy, nice food. Always worth a visit!

Great food. Would recommend their crab sandwiches. Good choice of ales and lovely to sit outside in the sun.
