A 17 bedroom privately owned and managed townhouse hotel in the heart of the pretty harbour town of Kirkcudbright. Where good food, friendly service and a warm welcome await.

It’s the gentle pace and peaceful atmosphere which perhaps moved Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns to write the famous Selkirk Grace at this very hotel in 1794.

We stopped at The Selkirk Arms when looking for a good hotel to stay the night at.nThe hotel is situated in a quiet residential street with a wine bar & local pub within walking distance. We visited both where were found friendly locals. There is a great selection of gins, wines & lagers. Also pet friendly.nnThe hotel itself was immaculate & tastefully decorated. Our room was clean & very comfortable with lovely new decor.nStaff were friendly & helpful.nWe had an evening meal at the hotel which was excellent.nBreakfast was also very good.nThe area around hotel is beautiful with lots of walks, historical sites & close to the coast which has a wonderful seaviews & also a ferry route to Ireland.nWould definitely return again to the hotel to see & explore more.nThanks for a great stay.
Really enjoyable stay at the Selkirk arms for 4 nights. The location of the hotel is great and has parking at the rear.nnStaff all really helpful and the building is beautiful and historic. Room was nice and looked like it had recently been renovated and the bed was super comfy.nnWe had breakfast included and was freshly made each day and we also ate at the restaurant for dinner on two evenings and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed the crab starter and the chicken curry.nnWould highly recommend a stay.
Food was great, we ate dinner here 1 night and was lovely. Staff were amazing. Room was good, very comfy bed bathroom a little tired - but not enough to worry us. Good stay overall. Thanks
Had a lovely 4 night stay here to explore Kirkcudbright. Room was great, spacious and super comfortable. Breakfast was great, cooked fresh to order and good portions. We ate for dinner twice and both times great food, really tasty and good choice. Staff throughout the hotel were lovely, super friendly and chatty. Can highly recommend if you are in the area.
Went for a birthday lunch. Ordered beautiful food. There was a two course deal menu as well. Excellent service, comfy and welcoming. Partner said his coffee was excellent.
