Absolutely gorgeous bed and breakfast! The rooms were lovely and a generous size; the bed was very comfortable and there were good tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was great and the hairdryer available was very effective. We received a very warm welcome or stay could not have been more enjoyable. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and set us off nicely for the day. The use of the living room in the first floor was a lovely touch. We would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Kirkcudbright and can't wait to come back!

Beautiful old guesthouse run by a lovely couple. Personal touch is wonderful. Fantastic change to the impersonal premier inn. Very close to the castle.

Fantastic and lovely hotel. The couple that run it are absolutely lively and easy to talk to, making you feel at home. The bedroom was an excellent size with nice views, good bed and a lovely shower. The breakfast was great and cooked to our liking.

On our arrival at Gladstone House we were greeted as if old friends returning - no formality but genuine warmth. Shown round the beautifully appointed rooms in the house and then taken to our room which was superb with views over the rooftops to the hills beyond. We were then invited to the lounge for afternoon tea and cake beside the cosy fire. It was indeed a most welcome after the journey. Dinner was provided in the B&B, which is not common these days, and was superb and worth every penny of the £26. Since there is no licence to sell alcohol, we were encouraged to bring wine to have with the meal, if we so wished.
After a most comfortable sleep, breakfast was another culinary treat, with home-made bread on the menu. Nothing was a problem and we were again encouraged to ask for more. In our alas to short a stay, it seemed to us that the couple run the B&B along the lines of welcoming and entertaining friends in their home. This was our first stay at Gladstone House but hopefully it won't be our last.

Gladstone House was the perfect guest house in Kirkcudbright. I have just returned from a short visit to see an old friend who lives in Kirkcudbright, and had a marvelous time. I love Kirkcudbright, especially at this time of year when there are very few tourists it is so peaceful. We had a great weekend just ambling around, walking along the riverbank out to Tongland with wonderful views across the sands. The owners of Gladstone House are very welcoming and went out of their way to help us, and let us know what to see and do.
