My family and I were visiting Kirkcudbright to see MacLellan's Castle and made reservations for dinner at Castle Bistro. We had such an amazing meal there and we have been talking about it ever since! Paul was running a one man show while we were there and he made sure we were absolutely taken care of and given the best experience. He was so friendly and the food and drinks were wonderful. We really appreciated his attentiveness and effort to give us the best experience while in Kirkcudbright. By the end of our meal, we felt like we had just had dinner with an old friend.
A wee gem.nnA cosy and welcoming atmosphere created by Paul the chef/owner.nnThe menu is small but the quality is excellent. Paul went out his way to tailor the dishes to our particular dietary requirements and they were first class.nnIt's nice to go a restaurant which is a bit different mostly down to the way Paul interacts with his guests.nnYou must give it a try if you are in Kirkcudbright or the surrounding areas.
What an incredible find on a quick stop to see MacClennan Castle. The food was truly amazing! It was a perfect combination of local food and flavours. I found this quaint little Castle bistro simply delicious! The atmosphere was very inviting and staff were extremely friendly and professional. The owner and Chef came into the dinning room and ensured that everything was exactly to our liking. What a wonderful surprise, instantly one of my Top 5 restaurants to visit!
Fabulous food - owner/chef gave us 4 vegan main course options with only a day’s notice. Had a lovely evening - would highly recommend!
What a lovely restaurant, so welcoming, food amazing, highly recommendable, cosy surroundings, lovely atmosphere, best cheesecake I've ever tasted, 5 stars from me......would defo go back. Highly recommend the duck.
