We searched online for a place that did high tea (not afternoon tea), and The Old School House was the only local place. Imagine our disappointment to discover they no longer offered high tea :-( Although the service was friendly and efficient it wasn't high tea. The food was good, but it wasn't high tea. The cost for 4 of us having a 2 course meal with tea and bread was very reasonable, but we wanted a high tea. As you can tell I was a bit disappointed, but others in our party were devastated at the lack of high tea. So Old School House please reinstate high tea as soon as possible.

Only had a latte and a scone but it was fantastic! My husband had the homemade Baklava and proclaimed it some of the best he's ever had. Clean, fresh decor, and friendly, polite service. We'll definitely be back.

Genuinely friendly host made us feel most welcome despite being among the last customers of the day. Beautifully presented tasty food in a relaxing setting. Highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch. There's a good choice of dishes on the menu for starters, main course and dessert to choose from. We had the vegetarian cashew nut roast which was delicious and of us had the pork which came with black pudding. They ate it all and said they'd never eat black pudding usually, but it was so tasty. The meals came with boiled and roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and a selection of vegetables. You could tell everything was fresh produce and freshly cooked to order from scratch. The ginger and fresh fruit cheesecake was delicious too. A lovely meal in charming surroundings, clearly a lot of thought has gone into that too. And the coffee is excellent!

Stop the car! Don't drive past, you'll be missing out. Fabulous home cooked food, great service and decent prices. This is a must do for us every time we are near and it never disappoints.
