"Welcome to The Sailmaker—a family pub in Gosport. Our traditional carvery is served seven days a week, alongside a classic menu of great pub grub, and a children’s menu. A friendly atmosphere awaits for all the family, from the youngest to the oldest. Mum, Dad, Nan, and Grandad will love the excellent selection of cask ales, draught beers, and wines, as well as our teas, coffees, and soft drinks. And the kids will be delighted with our two play areas: one indoors, and one outdoors, so there’s always something for them to do no matter what the Great British Weather is up to!"

Me and my family came in today. The staff were very friendly and plentiful so we didn't wait long at all. The place itself is very nice environment, friendly, chilled and it has some nice artwork from TV shows on the wall. I originally went in for a carvery but looking at it you could tell the food had been there a while, the beef looked like leather which some family members mentioned when eating it so I opted for the cowboy burger which was very nice, just wished I'd read it was french fries instead of proper chips. Overall it's not the worst place to eat, the food wasn't disgusting nor spectacular but I prefer other food restaurants in Gosport for slightly less money. If I'm honest I wouldn't recommend it if you asked me. I'm sorry to the staff because as I said they were lovely. Cowboy burger pictured.
Popped in for a quick drink after a boat trip from Portsmouth to Gosport. Lauren served us and was incredibly welcoming. Saw that they had a carvery and decided to give it a go. Meat juicy, roast potatoes crispy on the outside fluffy in the middle and the veg was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. Thank you Lauren for making our visit outstanding
Food was lovely, especially the potato gratin! Staff were attentive and friendly and prices are reasonable. We decided to come back after a great carvery last week and we were very happy again. Thanks to Adam for the great carvery once again. Kid-friendliness: There is an outside play area and inside there is a dedicated kids corner with activities. Kids menu also good.
Good food and service, both Adam and Rossell have cooked us a nice fish/ scampi and chips, so thank you! As for staff all friendly and professional. Kid-friendliness: Kids play area is nice and spacious outside and there's a little corner indoors for little ones.
First time for food nice and hot food was lush kids ate all there food up and had a pudding will be back again Kid-friendliness: Small play area for them to play in
Great service. We were seated as soon as we got there even though we arrived early for our booking. The kids loved coming for a Sunday roast treat! We've been many times before with family and never had a bad experience. Desserts were very tasty and came out super quick! Dietary restrictions: My daughter has intolerances to dairy and eggs and this was asked before ordering and her needs were met. Kid-friendliness: Perfect for kids. You can sit inside or outside also. Both children are autistic and the staff were very patient whilst waiting for a food order which took a little longer due to feeling overwhelmed.
Stayed in hotel next door for work, ate in most night. Staff were always welcoming, friendly and very efficient. Menu was varied and the carvery was always plentiful and topped up regularly. Jess was very helpful and nice.Food: 4/5
Food was absolutely incredible, I had the southern fried chicken burger and it was amazing , the portion size was perfect . My 3 year old is normally quite reluctant to finish her meals but she ate the whole lot of her lunch. We were served by a lovely lady called olla, she was so welcoming , polite and very helpful Kid-friendliness: Me and my friend brought our children and they played so lovely indoors and outside in the park. They loved the food and the atmosphere and we great
Had the Steak meal deal Thursday. Meal includes a drink. I had a pint of Fosters, she had a glass of wine. Lovely bit of steak, cooked medium rare to perfection. Nice chips and peas plus onion rings and mushrooms. Good service. Nice quiet atmosphere and all round good value for money at less than £30 for two of us. Would highly recommend.
Food was exceptional, quick to arrive, generous potion sizes and full of flavour. Value for money and super friendly cheerful service every visit would highly recommend.Food: 5/5
