The Victualler Harbourside Bar & Restaurant
"Bakers Bar and Kitchen is housed in an Historic listed building in the fantastic surroundings of Royal Clarence Marina. This building served as a bakery for the Navy, and still maintains the original ovens, which are features of our bar and dining area. With views over the marina, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the views, major sporting events, catch up on the news or relax in our quiet Café bar, Upstairs at Bakers. Wherever possible, we use local ingredients and suppliers including coffee and gin, as well as making our own breads and doughs. With ties to the Powder Monkey Brewing Co, we also stock beers from this local business who are bringing a new brewing experience to Gosport."

If you can find it, good luck. It's like a treasure map with few clues. Very good food and drinks from this new venture. Our waiter certainly knew his way around the menu and steered us well. The local brew is very drinkable.
Great food and drink at very reasonable prices. Great guest beers on offer that change regularly. The bar itself is a very interesting place with the original bread ovens still in place and made into a feature. Highly recommend a visit
I don’t think anyone here particularly likes their job if I’m honest. Prawn skewers completely unseasoned, just warm and bland, charcoal bread slices, extremely slow service, no apology for the delay of over 40 minutes, waiter looked extremely sad and we felt like we were an inconvenience to even be there before we’d even asked for anything yet. We were sat there at 10pm with every other customer gone and they still didn’t come and ask us how the food was awful or if we wanted the bill. Won’t be coming back, would’ve asked for my bill to be cancelled or reduced but to be honest we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We aren’t picky people, we don’t have crazy standards we just expected to eat food from someone who actually enjoys cooking, and be served by someone who actually wasn’t devastated to be there.
I visit the Bakers Bar & Kitchen quite often from a personal point of view, i love the beer selection and wines and love that I can take a dog too! So I decided to book a table for a business meal 11 people in total. We were welcomed for drinks at the bar then sat at a lovely table where we could all see each other and interact. Food was great I had the burger never disappoints and I could see all my colleagues had different meals. Everything tasted good, was hot and we all actually ate together which is sometimes unusual with a big order. Thank you team will be back both personally and with my work colleagues :
Very friendly staff, nice place, during the week not to busy. Tasty kitchen and beer
Great setting and friendly staff. Food was good, the pie was especially good! Great that there were beers from the local brewery Powder Monkey. We went to watch the rugby and there were loads of TVs. With a giant TV at one end it gave it more of a US Sports Bar feel but in a historic setting. Sounds a bit odd but for us at least it really worked!
Excellent Sunday roast a big thumbs up from Grandma for the gravy-high praise indeed!. Servers were polite & attentive. Interesting setting in the old military bakery with a great view over the water. All flat with plenty of space for wheelchair access.
Been here a few times and really enjoy this place . Excellent staff and a good vibe but on a visit today was a little disappointed . They do discounts and offers for the food and they've one for 25% of the food menu . Today though they said that no longer applies even though they were advertising it on the screen . If your no longer offering then don't display .
Works Christmas do booked in the last week of SEPT however we were put upstairs because of the "footy" with NO Christmas decorations apart from one tiny tree with a few lights. No other decorations so it could have been Easter! First drink and not asked if I wanted ice, just filled the glass with it! I've done bar work, you ASK if the customer wants it! They hadn't set the bar up so the staff had to run up and down all night and be aware, you can't use cash up there when I handed the girl a tenner she looked at it like it was a UFO. 2tonic waters ...£5.80!!! My 8 mussel starter should have been called winkles they were so small. Nut roast was amazing tho. Pudding - good. Cheeseboard .... Diabolic. Remember this was booked BEFORE second week of October so how the chuff did they run out of cheese? It should have been saved as a pre-book meal so they didn't run out earlier in the evening... NOT GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. Not enough staff to serve, I had eaten my starter before people next to me had theirs served. NO CHRISTMAS MUSIC because the speaker was broken. I was offered a drink on the house to make up for not having the smoked apple wood cheddar and the Isle of Wight blue next to our brie but by then lots of our group were leaving so I had a coffee which did not make up for at least 7 cheese boards, and I've just realised we didn't have the homemade chutney either. The woman I spoke to at the end was very apologetic but it didn't make up for not having our pre-booked cheeseboards, she told me they'd run out, you do NOT do this if it is pre booked!! This just put the tin lid on it for a lot of us. Staff nice but overworked, drinks astronomical, highlight of evening was the nut roast.
Had a great lunch at Bakers, massive tapas platters. Good beer and food service. The covid safety arrangements were well organised and we felt safe in this restaurant. I would recommend this place for people who are still a little nervous about eating out.
