Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Plenty of choice, hot food cooked to order, staff lovely. Could not fault this aspect.nHowever, we had a courtyard room which sadly was very stuffy so needed the window open, this meant that residents and non residents were sitting directly outside of our window which we had to have open for air. There was also an extractor type fan opposite which was running at intervals throughout the night therefore a disturbed sleep.nLocation was good however if we booked again would ensure we had a better room.nPool was a bonus and well organised for booking.nAn average stay.nOne other thing of note, this is a cashless business, personally do not agree, if all businesses did this cash would go, there should be a choice regardless of whether there are banks locally.
We had a short stay here , what a lovely place to stay, full of character, a little gem, the hotel it is very close to the beach, the staff were very welcoming , polite , and attentive. We had booked an evening meal here, we could not fault the food , full of flavour and well presented, excellent service in the dining room .breakfast was really good, you have a choice of cereals, fruit ,pastries, juices, coffee, tea unlimited, and a choice of cooked breakfasts. Our room was called a comfy room, it was very clean and well equipped, comfy bed, a good night's sleep was had, spacious ensuite , shower hand and shampoo were provided including moisturizer. The hotel was quite and holds a very peaceful atmosphere. Morning strolls on the beach was bliss, the area was spotless clean,it was a pleasure to see no litter lying around, reflecting pride in the area. We can't wait to return here again for a longer stay, well done to the people of Lyme Regis and a big thank you to the Royal Lion Hotel staff , with the excellent service you provided making our stay most enjoyable.
We stayed here in June 2024 and were very pleased with this charming hotel which dates back to the 1600's. The room was clean and spacious with lots of nice touches The food in the restaurant was good and we found the service and friendliness of all the staff outstanding. They have a very warm indoor pool and Jacuzzi. You book it by the hour but you have it all to yourself. Heaven!
Excellent food and service. A full and varied menu, we had the duck confit and pork belly which were both cooked to a high standard. The two young ladies serving in the bar were extremely professional, friendly and polite. Highly recommended.
Hotel really nice, went there for Sunday b lunch, staff very disappointing and not very welcoming didn’t say hello food was also disappointing vegetables nice I had pork which was very very chewy and had to give to the dog and the beef was very rare as in bloody do not put children on your front desk of your pub. it’s not very good when they don’t have a clue.
