We came here for dinner with a table reserved. All the food tasted good and was cooked properly, the meat cuts were a bit thin but it's what you expect at a carvery. The prices were fairly average and the staff were very friendly. We got the carvery, spent £9 for a large carvery, and we got to pick two meats, and as many vegetables as we wanted, along with two Yorkshire puddings and a fair sized plate. The food was all cooked properly, even if the mash was a bit bland. The roast potatoes were great and the rest was cooked nicely. We had an issue where they forgot to bring our starter, but as soon as we told them they got right to bringing it out and refunded us for it. The staff were all very friendly and happy to help, even when it was busy. The carvery itself had plenty of parking space, was warm, and had plenty of space to sit inside, we were sat in a nice warm corner that was quiet, and the decoration and paintings around the carvery was very nice. I'd recommend you visit this place if you're looking for a reasonably priced carvery to take the family to, or just to go on a date. Friendly staff, good ambiance, and quick service make this carvery a good choice to stop at.
I came for a Saturday lunch, it wasn't particularly busy. So the food looked like it had been sitting around for a while. There was Gammon, Turkey and Beef on offer, I had some of each. The portion cut for me was, a nice amount. The carrots I had were cold and the gammon was only luke warm. We paid £7.49 for the carvery, which is cheap. When we arrived there was a problem in the kitchen, so we could only order a carvery.
Came here with family over Xmas for the festive menu and must say overall family did enjoy the food, starters, carvery and desserts were all enjoyed and would return. Couple of things that let the experience down was no guinness completely run out which I understand can happen but in busy periods maybe get extra in. Also found out there is a separate charge for pigs in blankets which was not told about should for the price all be included, didn't pay no extra because if I'm honest they looked a bit burnt anyways. Then finally took a meal back home for a family member who could not attend and wanted two meats in it but was told clearly no by the guy who works there? He stated not in a small so We then offered to pay extra for it and he still said no? But when we actually went to fill the tub the lovely lady who then served us said that would be fine! So he needs to take some customer service tips from her as its because of her I will happily now return. With so many establishments avalible to go to its little things like what she did that set your place above others, i hope he takes note.
Fantastic staff - Alan in particular is always a delight when we visit! Food is of an excellent price and quality- particularly the daily carvery. Well worth a visit!
Absolutely amazing food n to be fair im a big eater but the breakfast i had was filling and very tasty so will be going back soon
We went here for a family Christmas meal. Some of us had the festive menu and the children ordered off the main menu . The menu was fantastic and so was the prices for it. The staff were running around trying to deal with everyone . I think more staff were needed , we had to wait a lot. The service was a bit slow but it was busy, so expected . We had a fabulous relaxed night, the staff looked after us. I love the scheme your doing for the homeless, where you can buy a meal for them or a food parcel, fantastic thing to do, we participated in this. One thing that had bothered us was My Daughter tried in person to book a table for us for this festive Christmas meal, one particular member of staff said there were no tables , however when she got home and went on the website she was able to book a table for 8 of us. My Daughter is single and has been a few times for a carvery on her own and the same member of staff has said there are no tables, each time, my Daughter pointed out to her there are tables and the member of staff said they're reserved but they didn't have reserved on them. On another visit was told there are no tables it's going to be a 30 minute wait , it was a 10 minute wait. My Daughter is under the impression that maybe you don't like single people to take up a table for two or more -Is this your policy , you would rather serve couples or families ?
First time I've been here for a number of years, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Good service clean and comfortable and no need to boom, well not for the time we visited but I believe you would need to book if going for an evening. They served us a good portion of meat, although there were only three options, turkey, beef, or gammon. Vegetables were fresh and tasty, but like the meat, the selection was also limited but in good supply. In short, it was a good experience and one I would be happy to do again.
I visit here quite often for a Sunday Carvery with my family . It's easy to book a table, the staff do their best to have tables close to each other if there's a few of us. The food is good with a variety of vegetables. The staff are always happy to help, the kids love it. Would definitely recommend coming here.
The food was delicious as usual! But there was a huge queue for the carvery & no mint sauce! I ordered food, drinks & pudding on the app which was really easy but there was a very long wait for each of them to arrive. The few staff that were working were rushing around but still polite, funny & helpful. There was an offer on the app when we went & that was why it was so busy so maybe a few extra staff next time would help. Thanks
Booked for a works Christmas meal, party of 10. We had earlier paid a deposit to secure the table. On the evening, the pub was very quiet. We were easily the largest party there and probably only another 5 or 6 groups in the pub the entire evening. We ordered Carvery and items from the menu, Carvery was available right away and other food selected from menu arrived within 30 mins. Food was of reasonable standard but not memorable, staff at bar were helpful but only one barman on duty all evening. Honestly, I'm not sure I'd visit this pub again, but it wasn't a bad experience, just very basic.
