Good food and reasonably priced. Staff are very accommodating. Try the red wine and stilton sauce. It is amazing!!! :)

Food was incredible, open fire was great, staff were friendly but not intrusive. The burger was the best burger I have ever had! I would highly recommend! :)

Had a meal there yesterday and have to say it was one of the nicest ones I've had in a long time when eating out - I had turkey which was so moist I could have eaten a whole one - plenty veg, stuffing, roast potatoes, etc - the staff were lovely and gave my little grandson pencils and a colouring book whilst we were waiting for dinner - our starters were soup which was lovely + hot accompanied by crusty bread. The desserts were delicious and the staff were very attentive and explained all that was on the menu - would definitely go back asap though I live in London - excellent atmosphere even if you just wanted a drink it's a lovely pub .

Excellent. Steak and ale pie freshly prepared with fresh vegetables-and delicious gravy, friendly efficient service, good ale in the grand tradition of a classic English pub which is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Enjoy

We stopped here on the way home from a day or just on the off chance and had a nice meal. Nothing fancy but a nice venue, very quiet on a bank holiday afternoon. Decent food, nice portion, and a pretty typical price. Friendly staff but not intrusive. Would go again if we are in the area.
