Story

Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

A little pub history

The site on which the inn stands was the Brooker farmhouse, which was originally known as a building called 'Feveralds' or 'Brewers' which had belonged to the Reynolds family 300 years ago. The date the building was constructed;1823, can be seen engraved into the stone above one of our fireplaces today.

you SERIOUSLY need to address the fishcakes on your present menu. They taste awful! I have been a customer of yours for well over ten years and never I have tasted something I just couldn't eat! OTHER than the main course, the service, as always, was pleasant and attentive, and the drinks served quickly and with a friendly attitude. Both starters and sweet was lovely, but i did overhear both the adjoining tables making complaints to the waitress about different matters.
Had a lovely evening meal. Food was delicious and freshly prepared, some options weren't available but the waitress was up to date with what was on offer. Very friendly and quick service. It was toasty, warm inside and we stayed for dessert and coffee. Not as cheap as some of the pubs nearby but then it wasn't microwaved either. Plenty of parking and lovely atmosphere. Definitely be back. Looks dog friendly too.
I'm from Canada, but I always make a point of visiting Robin Hood when I'm in the area. I love it here. Cozy doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere in this place. I love the food, but even if they happened to burn everything on my plate, they would still get 6/10 on the atmosphere alone. It's like time is standing still while I enjoy my food and pints. Maybe this is the norm for British pubs, but it feels like I've been welcomed into someone's home to take my time while I relax. Please don't ever shut down. I'll always be happy to answer any questions the staff has about life in Canada, too ; Cheers, G
Nice pub. Very busy when we arrived in booked at around 15 :30. Meal arrived reasonable quickly but not to quickly. Disappointed with burnt roast potatoes and a small portion of roast beef, after showing staff member she whisked both plates away and returned with two new meals. Much better this time with good portion meat and nice roast potatoes. But roast parsnips were missing, we did not want to tell staff again who were very busy. We ordered two roast beef with extra side of cauliflower cheese this was cauliflower with grated cheese on and did not look like it was crisped in the oven. Overall we were pleased with our meal, but at £33 a little in the high side. The staff member who dealt with the problem was excellent and saved the day.
Food and decor nice; staff friendly enough and pleasant but perhaps more training in service needed by the management. It wasn't busy but we were having to chase for for everything. Check back on food done when meal almost finished. We would probably have spent more money on drinks and coffee but everything prior to that had just taken too long.
Great food and service. Went there twice within a week for a meal on Tuesday for a pizza and was so good and bigger than expected then went Sunday for a roast dinner and couldn't have been nicer. The food and service was so good. Will be returning and recommending to go

What a lovely place inside and outside, the staff are all friendly and nice. The food was delicious cooked to perfection, we all enjoyed our meals. I recommend this place for dining out or just drinks, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go back.
