Absolutely exquisite...so much food! Excellent service, a fantastic historical venue with a great ambience. Our dog was very welcome & much admired. We will endeavour one more meal in this short trip.
Wow, wow, wow! The most incredible Sunday roast I've had in a long time. Very generous portions, and all incredibly tasty. As if the plate wasn't enough, had sides of potato dauphinoise and cheesy broccoli and cauliflower. Dog friendly pub, even came over and gave him a treat. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful, nice to have a bit knowledge of what's being served, knowing where beer/cider is from and what it tastes like. Definitely recommend to anyone in the area!
This meal… this meal was a wonderful experience. The pub might look modest from the outside but as soon as you get in you realise how friendly, comfortable and enjoyable the place is. The staff are caring, knowledgable and passionate. The food was delicious, included incredible portions and the cocktails were superb. The theme night was the steak night for us. I had the steak and the mushroom sauce. My word it was good. I live far away and it’s unlikely i can visit again for a long time. However i will hunt down this pub and will go again. Amazing. Go there. Feast. Enjoy. Thank you ring o bells.
Whilst the food and service is excellent, the lack of drinks for diabetics is poor. The village is not big enough to sustain a busy restaurant like the Ring of Bells with the justified reputation it has, people travel to eat here, like myself, and so because I'm driving, I can only have sugar free soft drinks. When pointed out, the lady serving us was grateful for my comments and promised to rectify this. Thank you
Food was pretty reasonable, except for the "Thai Red Curry" which was neither Thai nor Red nor a Curry but rather a very tasty beef casserole. I just wish the staff had taken up the offer of tasting and acknowledging the mistake rather than arguing about it. no you cannot mistake ginger, garlic, lemongrass and coconut milk for Yorkshire's finest thick onion gravy!
Excellent little pub, friendly staff, great Sunday roast, good value for money, veg option was awesome and the chef walked around and asked how everything was. Perfect and highly recommended.
In very quaint little village of Cornwall, St Columb, this pub is just perfect. Located uphill at the entrance to the high street. We were passing by on a Sunday so could not taste the main menu but what we had was fresh and tasty. Our last pitstop for the bank holiday weekend.
Smashing Olde-world 1400's pub - cosy, atmospheric and all staff were genuinely friendly and professional. We called on the off chance and although they were fully booked, we were kindly sorted with a table that wouldn't be used for a while, thanks There's a good selection of local beers and ciders with a well cooked food selection that's varied too. Specials nights Italian, Curry, etc - all cooked in-house. No freezer re-heats here. Delicious and very generous portions! Good luck saving space for a pudding. Saved this as one of our favourite pubs. Wish we'd found it before.
Place is lovely, staff lovely but food awful. I ordered a beef masaman curry, nothing more than a beef stew. 1 curry but not a curry and 2 wines £35. Would never return unfortunately
We turned up without booking and were seated almost immediately. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. We were the last people in the pub but weren't made to feel rushed and were not made to feel we had to leave in a hurry.
