Had a really good wetsuit buying experience in here after doing a lot of looking around most of Newquay and feeling disheartened about not being to replace my raggy old wetsuit and the onset of winter. The guy in the shop was really helpful and knowledgeable, with no pressure at all, and there was a really wide range of brands and sizes to try. Air con above the changing rooms too so wasn’t too much of a sweaty experience
Good selection of items, plenty of parking,unfortunately unlike the shops not dog friendly
Great shop for clothing, wetsuits and many other surf,paddle related items. Only niggle like a lot of shops these days is wish they still had some sort of wrapping or bags for packing purchases in rather than expensive jute type bags. The old plastic bags are most certainly not the thing these days but a paper bag would certainly be an option or even tissue.
Having not been here for circa 10 years, we visited last week. It was good for kids clothes, we bought both Kids a hoody which was great discounted value.nHowever, the adults section which was massive, wasn't really that good in terms of value. I feel a lot of the items could be found cheaper online, and only items with faults were of the prices we'd come to remember. A disappointing return.
I wandered into this establishment with modest expectations just a newly relocated soul on the hunt for a wetsuit that wouldn’t make me look or feel like a tightly wrapped sausage. Little did I know, I was about to have a retail experience worthy of a standing ovation.nnEnter Struan: local legend, wetsuit wizard, and possibly part dolphin based on his ocean knowledge. He approached me with the friendliness of someone who’s either had three coffees or just really loves helping clueless customers like myself. Turns out, he’s a local born in a wetsuit, I suspect and knew exactly what would work for me based on my build, the local water temps, and probably my star sign.nnHe didn’t just hand me a wetsuit oh no, he guided me through the process like a neoprene sommelier, explaining what thickness would be best, which ones wouldn’t leave me chafing like an overexcited seal, and how to avoid looking like a lost tourist flailing in the surf.nnHonestly, I left not just with the perfect wetsuit but with the distinct feeling I’d made a new mate and found the spot for gear and banter.
