Great fish and chips, cooked fresh and large portions. Only had one bad experience 2 Saturday's back when the chips were undercooked and very hard. I had not seen the lady doing the chips that night before, may be new staff. I remember thinking at the time that they seemed to be out of the fryer much quicker than normal. Fish was excellent as always.

Being a new doctor in the area I rang to order fish and chips on my way home. I was unaware it was carnival night. The girl who answered the phone took my order which I was to collect at 6.30pm. When I arrived there was a long queue inside and outside. I quietly and politely asked the lady serving about collecting my order. She was rude and offensive, told me I was raising my voice (when I was in fact I was calmly trying to find out about my tea), that it was a busy night and she couldn't serve me as the other queuing customers would be angry! I asked a genuine question about why my order had been taken in the first place when it was clearly a night when they couldn't fulfill it as I'd travelled some distance? At this point the other lady serving joined in and was equally rude. Due to the hostile response from your staff, it must have appeared to the other customers queuing that I was trying 'to jump the queue'. In fact as a customer I was being vilified for turning up, on time, to collect an order that had been taken by the staff in the shop half an hour earlier! All that was needed was a polite explanation and apology that I'd wasted my time and been given wrong information. What happened instead was blame the customer for trying to buy her tea!!!

Love his chips go there every Friday as a treat best chippy in our area.
