Story

Pub History
This Wetherspoon pub was originally the Regal cinema. Construction began in 1939, but was halted by the outbreak of war, and was completed when building restrictions were lifted in 1956. Renamed the ABC, in 1963, and then Cannon in 1988, the cinema closed down two years later. Later opened in 1996 - The Regal, Wetherspoons.

What we offer - which makes us unique :)
Great food & drinks all day, everyday, giving the fastest service in town!! With over 80+ tables available and 20+ tables in the beer garden. We also take bookings for functions, birthdays & stag and hen dos. Walk ins & families are always welcome. We serve a wide range of well kept real ales (Cask Marque Acrediated), real cider, wheat beers, lagers, fruit ciders, bottled or canned and also a wide range of wines, spirits and cocktails.

One of the most impressive wetherspoons I have been to. Service is friendly, the bar itself is spacious. There are a lot of different areas to the bar. Seating is comfortable, beer garden is nice. The drinks deals are brilliant as always, you get what you pay for in terms of food and its typical pub grub but it does me. Definitely come here again with the lads for a smash up.

No straws at all. Not even for little ones! I know they are trying to protect the environment but surely having a few paper straws for children or even some kind of lidded, reusable cups wouldn't be such a bad thing? Won't be taking the kids there for food anymore. OK for cheap drinks on a night our but that's it

It's not a bad place to drink. But much better bars just a short walk away. If you go into at night you will be waiting a long time to get served. The staff are friendly but there is no system to managing the bar and you end up waiting a lot longer than you should. Food is ok but like I said much better options within walking distance.

Just awful. Unfriendly manager. Service was rubbish. They messed up on are food order. Food was not good!

This Wetherspoons has recently started offering Pizza on the menu. We have tried them a couple of times and they were delicious. However, today we ordered them expecting the same quality, but they were disgusting There was virtually no topping on them, they were not even the correct shape! I complained about it, and I was given another one, which was much the same as the other one, but with dollops of cheese here and there. Needless to say, we will not be ordering a Pizza again. Such a pity because they were so good to begin with. Also, I must say that the toilets here were absolutely filthy. Three of them were out of order, and the remaining empty cubicles were too dirty to use.
